Gravity
I took delivery of a new Lucid Gravity in December 2025. The range and charge speed are impressive. However, as one of the customer care reps told me on the phone yesterday, I have had serious issues every month since we took delivery. The Lucid service staff in Rocklin, California, which is hundreds of miles from me, has been helpful in getting through problems remotely that customer care was unable to address. The problems have included inability to do a software update that made the car non-functional, second row seats not attaching when returned to upright position, second row seats rubbing against each other, window not properly torqued so it didn't properly close, etc. Most recently, yesterday, the Gravity has multiple error messages, including stability control unavailable, speed limited to 50 MPH, dream drive unavailable, etc. This prevented me from driving the Gravity to some important long-distance work meetings today. The solutions customer care offered yesterday (reboot) did not work. Rocklin Service called me this morning and are trying to do something. But, the Customer Care Lead tells me they can't even talk to me until tomorrow. Has anyone had similar experiences and any suggestions on how to get Lucid to take action? Thanks.

Recent layoffs made everyone pressured. Expect quality of service to decrease. Perhaps, price to pay to make sure they don’t keep on spending too much money. Cash burn has been a big issue.

I've had my Gravity since October 2025. I have had my share of warning symbol's. My experience is they typically go away at the time of the next start or certainly after the car has had a good sleep! When I first had the car I questioned the wisdom of ignoring some of the more concerning symbols, in the end I decided that if the car was driving "normally" I would continue to drive and see if the error occurred again, usually it did not. The various OTA's have for the most part improved the frequency of errors, but they continue and new ones present. For me with 3.5.1, my car does not open when I approach nor does it lock when I walk away (80% of the time). I really do like driving the car and on an 800 mile road trip it was well behaved! My SC has been great and experience with the call center has generally been positive and supportive. Would I buy it again, YES! Will we buy the Cosmos as an earlier adopter, YES. The driving experience and the appearance of the car make it worthwhile living with the small stuff. I realize that is not necessarily everyone's experience.

“Price you pay”? For what? buying a six figure luxury vehicle?

That mindset is exactly the problem and your comment is so out of touch! This isn’t a budget experiment or a beta product, it’s a $100K+ flagship SUV marketed as premium in every sense. Reliability, service, and support aren’t optional extras you sacrifice to help balance a company’s books, they’re baseline expectations at this level.

If layoffs and cash burn are impacting customer experience to the point where vehicles are undriveable and support can’t respond in real time, that’s not “the price you pay”, that’s a failure of execution.

You don’t get to charge luxury prices and then ask customers to lower their standards to startup-level tolerance. Either operate like a luxury brand or price like one that isn’t.

Thanks for the response. Problem with the current issue is the Gravity really won't

Thanks for the response. Problem with the current warnings I'm getting is the car really won't go over 50 MPH right now and it won't charge (I've tried both). I've rebooted and let it sleep several times and the problems persist. We've had Teslas since 2018 and never experienced any problems with the Teslas, and certainly no problems that make the car non-functional. Trying to get to a prompt solution so I can actually charge and drive it again.

I took my Gravity in for second row seat issues as well as a few other minor adjustment issues. Made an appointment over a month ago, dropped car off at Houston service center exactly one week ago. Since then the car has not moved from the back lot spot they moved it to after I dropped it off. No updates or status calls.

Fortunately they gave me a new Mercedes GLS 450 as a loaner, although with $5 gas, I would have preferred an EV.

Yep….. that seems to be the norm. They sit for a week or two before they even get looked at. This seat recall is going to make it even worse.

Agreed. In the past 25 years I have driven mostly German luxury cars plus a Lincoln Navigator. I virtually all cases, I have been able to schedule service within a day or two, get loaner, and in most cases, work was completed between a day and a week at most. Only exception was with an AMG that in one or two cases took a little longer due to parts coming from Germany.

As Lucid sells more and more cars (good thing) they need to scale up their service departments accordingly. It appears that Lucid assumed that these NEW cars would not have many issues and not need service for a year or two (very wrong assumption). Now that Lucid has “mostly” sorted out the FOB issues and is moving forward with establishing a stable software, service will be their next biggest issue. People coming from Mercedes and BMW will not accept this low level of service, so once they are done converting disgruntled Tesla owners, good luck converting other luxury ICE owners.

Apologies, my issues are minor, if you can't charge and speed is limited these are significant. If the local SC can't help can they refer you to another SC for phone support at least

Sorry you are having such an awful experience. If you can't go over 50mph and cannot charge you may well have something more substantial going on here...like a rear drive unit (which is used in charging) failure.
IIWY, I'd be definitely be "the squeaky wheel" and try to get Customer Care to escalate this ASAP

Service guys came out. Those guys are great by the way. It sounds like the Main Power Box module has failed/is not working. It's being hauled away to California service center. We'll see what happens, but it really seems like these cars were not ready to ship when they shipped them given the number of ongoing problems.
