I'm with you. Although we are in the minority, I didn't hear too much difference during my three month trial. I listen mainly to podcasts too, and used Sirius for a couple years listening to sports, rock and jazz. I would describe the sound as neutral and accurate.

Even though I have DDPro, I rarely use highway assist. The roads here are too congested and early experiences and my OCD prevent me from enjoying the ride unless I'm driving. However, as others pointed out, the 360 cameras are worth the upgrade.

What year is the car you are considering? My '23 Touring does have the hardware for both DDPro and SSPro so I could pay to activate SSPro at anytime. You maybe lucky....

I thought Lucid made a big HW upgrade (at least on the computing side) in 25 model year?

About OP's question: DD Pro is very useful if you do lots of highway driving. I don't do a whole lot of highway driving on this, but every time I do these days, it works great.

I don't have SS Pro. In my opinion, the base version is not something that should be on an $80K+ car. I've had better ones on $40K cars. I've seen in this forum people complaining about SS Pro as well (although the feedback seems to be more positive recently) - but I guess it is definitely better than the base version.

FSD gets too much credit. It’s not as good as marketed but its value is in traversing city streets which is also where it performs demonstrably worse and gives users a false sense of safety.

From my experiences, Ford’s Blue Cruise and GM’s Super Cruise are superior to FSD on the highway. Their logic is programmed to be more natural and less robotic often leading to smoother lane changes and more predictable behavior.

I had a lightning and currently have a Hummer SUT Edition 1, a Cybertruck, a Model X Plaid and a Mercedes EQS 580. Your info must be dated, I barely drive the two Teslas with FSD and on the highway Super Cruise and Blue Cruise are poor compared to FSD. I just drove 1000 miles from NJ to FL between my homes using FSD in the MXP and didn’t have to interrupt it once other than it missed backing all the way into a charging stall by a few feet.

I’d have never done the same in my Ford and wouldn’t in my GMC. I will let the Hummer auto steer but it’s not nearly as good. Mercedes Benz is a bit more like a lane keeping assistant on the highways.

I leased a Pure in March 2025 with basic DD and basic SS. I've had my share of self-driving coming from two prior Teslas. It's nice but I like to drive and didn't use it much so it's no big loss for me, personally. In terms of base sound however, don't let anyone tell you it's good...it's not. Muddied and no sub. The base Model 3 has much better sound. Probably one one thing I wish I had in terms of upgrades on the car. Maybe next go around.

The other thing is Lucid was messing around with their configurations this time a year ago. My base car for example HAS the 360 camera, which I think now is only on cars with upgraded packages. I would also try to look for a 2025 or newer because it has the upgraded chip that males the UX more responsive and I'd bet will make the forthcoming UX 3.0 on Air work better as well.

Yea, I love EVs, putting the arguments over environment aside, they’re just better and I enjoy driving them much more than ICE cars.

I’m yet to own a Lucid but there’s a lot to like there. I hope they can achieve profitability before it’s too late. They have great underpinnings wrt technology, designs are subjective but I really like the Air, and if they’re improving the software that’s a good sign.

I think when the EQS lease expires, MXP has more time, I’ll see if I can get my wife into an Air or even a Gravity. I’m not knocking the Gravity we just don’t need an SUV but if she prefers it, I’d consider one.

Sorry, I didn’t see this. Generally the Model X because of the range/efficiency, pretty good charging, FSD. And the ubiquity of the SC network. Although I’d not hesitate to take the MBZ buts it’s a bit less efficient, much slower charge curve. It is however more comfortable.

My most recent long roadtrip was over x-mas of this past year. I traveled from NJ to FL and back on the X in FSD over near;y the entire trip including charging stops.
