Today I walked over to an AIr in parking at my club, thinking it was mine.. Same color and interior. The key did not work to unlock, so I used Lucid phone app and it immediately unlocked the car and opened trunk.. I threw my pickleball gear in the trunk and walked away.... I then went back to car and got in to drive off but the seat was not set like mine... I looked around and suddenly realized it was somebody else's car. This makes me concerned about the security of the key function in mobile app. Has anybody else had a similar experience? By the way, I knew the owner of the other Lucid and I let them know too... They were equally concerned

Were you able to repeat this? If so, I'm sure that Lucid would be very interested in hearing about it!

I know the other owner, so we could certainly do a repeat... We both use Beverly Hills service center and I already reached out to service manager..

Please keep us posted with any updates.

Yeah check what devices are paired to them in the device settings.

Insane...this has deep ramifications

A. That's crazy.
B. Using a phone as a key to a car-any car- seems at the absolute top of the bad ideas list to me.

The first Air I got I refused delivery on due to damage. But it still got assigned to my account.

For weeks I could control the car, see where it was, open and close it, etc etc. It was just sitting at some house in Seattle. Idk if someone else bought it or what but it seems insane to me that could even happen. There’s another guy that tracked his salvage Air all the way back to Ukraine and can do the same thing!

Funny how common this is... or at least used to be. My father had a Pontiac and my aunt had a Buick. Each's trunk key would start the other's engine, and each's ignition key would open the other's trunk. I also once had (I think) four keys to various aircraft of a particular brand. I never got into one of the brand that I couldn't start with one of those keys... and some of the aircraft were pretty big iron! But I digress.

We have an answer.. It is not what I thought.. Lucid service did a deep dive and got times and details on both cars to do a data check on the openings. They could not find my command to the other car... Then they reached out and discovered the other car owner previously lost his key fob under seat or someplace in the car..... He had been using the key card to drive the car. Therefore, when I arrived and pushed repeatedly on the door handle it woke up the car and opened for me.. However, it did not happen immediately, and the handles coincidentally popped open a moment later-- just as I was pushed icon on the phone app... I understand the delay, because most of us experience that door handle reflex often lags. Meanwhile, the trunk was simply unlocked when I first walked up and threw in my paddle. Not sure why the other owner did not mention the lost fob to me, but it seems too be sorted. Just a wacky situation.. I should have known better because his car was dirtier than mine, lol
