Lucid Gravity Touring
List of Gravity issues noticed after two days:
- Told that Sirius was free for a year. Turns out only 90 days and it is not satellite. Didn't work today at all.
- Should be able to advance through radio presets with button not by having to touch the screen.
- Needs a home mode where you can park in your garage, leave doors unlocked, etc. You can do it but the car stays on
- Car let me in with fob but didn't recognize me, keeping me as Guest driver. Had to leave car, lock it, then reenter to correct
- Delivery said we had Homelink. Nope. Need to buy a receiver but nobody in service knew about it and never called us back.
- No idea what DreamConnect Premium is or what happens after 90 day trial. Nobody mentioned it. I found it on sticker which we never saw until delivery.

Congrats on the new Gravity! Anything you actually like about the car?

Most of your ‘issues’ are features you would like, not malfunction of the car at all.
So I suspect you didn’t test drive the car before purchase, maybe? These are fairly immediate details that are clear with a test drive and running thru the infotainment a little. Especially your DD premium question is something that should be clear on a test drive.

The profile issue is much better now but still does what you described occasionally. Upcoming update should fix this.

Also, I’m confused about the Homelink comment - you do need a garage opener that is compatible with it but it is standard with every car.

So the Homelink one is a misloaded software issue. Others here have had to have service load the correct software version with Homelink in it. That’s my understanding.

The rest, yeah that’s just how it is.

Yeah, I did not know that it did not have a Sirius XM radio installed (2026 Air Touring). Found out in this forum that it is internet. Mine has been prone to issues with 'no internet' or 'Service Not Authenticated' messages. It did not work at all on Friday but woke back up yesterday. As far as it being free for a year, mine says 90 days, but I just transferred my trade-in's subscription when I bought this one.

You can just change the driver profile within the car. If you set a PIN, might have to enter that to get out of Guest. There are also settings to let you setup which driver profile is associated with the fob and with which key card.

Car does have Homelink. What do you mean by "receiver?" The car has a Homelink transmitter - your garage door or gate needs a Homelink receiver, which is typically built into the opener itself.

Great idea- submit to [email protected]

Lucid keeps delivering Gravity that have the Homelink software disabled even though it's supposed to be there. Service has to fix it and reload the software, it's a far too common QC issue. The error message you get in that case tells you that you need a Homelink receiver and to contact the manufacturer to buy one (but service will just fix it for free).

Well, my Dec build delivered last Dec had it enabled and working with my old Homelink gate.
Yes, it's an error on some cars. You got the correct software, a number of people didn't. Mine also works.

Someone told you wrong, Siruis is free for 90 days. Pretty standard among new cars, but yeah, it works via cellar and Internet connection. It's $4 a month right now, so not a big deal for a 6 figure car, I would think.
Just contact customer care, they will take care of the Homelink issue.
Not sure what you mean by dream "connect". That's not a thing for this car. As far as the car goes right now, there are no subscriptions. Only via apps for features like Spotify or Tidal or Tesla membership. If you mean Dream Drive, either you purchased it or you didn't.

The rest are features you and others would like to have. Good suggestions tho.

Where are you finding a $4/month deal on Sirius XM? That is way better than anything I have been able to find.

I get an email almost every day from them about it. I already have it. Just give them a call and ask for it. It's no longer one of those things where it's a promotion for a couple months or a year either. They will keep it at that rate.

I like the car but it does have issues. I did test drive it but wouldn't discover homelink issue until I got it home. When I told dealer they said I had to have the receiver installed. The receiver is what you point your remote at to teach it. My car doesn't have it. Not a software issue.

The DD Premium issue would not come out in a test drive if nobody tells you what you lose after 90 days.

It's also not a feature if you get in the car and the screen is black as it did today. Had to reboot it. Running through the infotainment system during a test drive won't help you here either

That’s really strange that you don’t have hardware for Homelink. And they’re saying you ‘have to buy a receiver’? It’s something you have to purchase? That doesn’t sound correct at all. The others responses on this thread say it’s a software install that needs to be done, not hardware. Please clarify this as it’s the first I’ve heard of missing Homelink hardware.

Also you didn’t mention blank screens in your original post - that was an issue for me with software prior to 3.3.20 (I assume you’re running this version already), but it hasn’t happened since to me. I would say that resetting your Gravity is sometimes needed, and I would bet that every owner has had to reset their car at least a couple times in early ownership. Of course, I had to reset the multiple Teslas I’ve owned at least a dozen times each , and definitely more so than in my Gravity. I hope that will be a rare occurrence for you too.

Turns out Homelink is std on Grand Touring and not installed on Touring. As for DreamConnect Premium, it IS a thing and in the purchase docs. It doesn't explain it though. Sounds like it WILL BE a connectivity subscription with better nav and provision for a hotspot. But honestly can't find out from dealer....

It's an option code in the vehicle configuration -- nothing to do with if the hardware is actually present. This was really common in June/July, but it's bizarre that vehicles are still getting mis-provisioned with the wrong options, especially this one.

Wow. Just makes no sense for that. Every car in the USA, no matter how cheap it is, has a garage door opener installed as standard equipment. Even my daughter's 2016 Toyota RAV 4 has one, as did my wife's old 2012 BMW 535i and my old 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

This does seem strange. But comments here suggest it’s a software fix not a hardware one. 🤷

both my 2023 Teslas disagree. It's $350 each.

In 2016
2016 Toyota RAV4 most expensive car in its category
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee nearly most expensive car in its category
In 2012
2012 BMW 535i most overpriced car in it's category :)
