Anyone using their Gravity to tow a trailer? What hitch ball mount did you use?

The manual states a max 7.5" from center of hitch pin to center of ball, and a max rise of .89". Also note that the max shank length is 3", measured from center of pin to the end, before it hits the end of the receiver. I'm having a hard time finding any hardware that matches these requirements. Has anyone found anything?

Next closest at 8.42" is the Weigh Safe: https://www.weigh-safe.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/4X2-ASSEM-DIMENSIONS.pdf. The steel version could have been 7.85" except the pin to end length is 3.5" which is > 3" so you can't use that hole.

The Tesla MX has a similar removable hitch and similar limits: 8" length, .75" rise https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/...A0E-AD21-811B04CE53BB.html#CONCEPT_HYZ_JPG_JT.

I asked Lucid service about this (before purchasing), and he said it won't void the warranty (and he's never seen an issue as long as you follow the weight and tongue limits). Am I over thinking this? I'm towing a 3600# trailer, so not near the limits, but still...
 
I went with this hitch for my Model X and it worked fine. I was planning on reusing it on my Gravity.


The drop/raise style hitches could be useful as the hitch receiver in the Model X and Gravity mount so low, but the limited rise height in the manuals for both cars steered me away from them.

I only had one instance where I was worried the ball hitch sticking out on the Model X might scrape when backing out of a steep driveway, but raising the suspension to Very High took care of that.

It doesn't come with a ball or pin like the preassembled versions and costs more!. Good because I wanted a locking pin and bad because I didn't have a 250 ftlb torque wrench to mount the ball.

Side note:
1. Nobody uses the correct setup, even OOS had it mounted wrong pulling an overweight trailer.
2. On most websites including Amazon the 7.5inch dimension is not listed. After much searching, looking at gazillions of hitches, I asked Amazons AI 'rufus' to find me a 2inch hitch, with 7.5inch pin to ball hole and after a few other refinements it actually came up with some. AI was actually helpful to the consumer!

Thanks. Side note: even though the manual states standard height should be used for towing, Service said high or highest can be used to tow (adjusted before entering tow mode). I *really* hope they don't change the software to disallow this in the future, since that puts me very close to spec to tow.

I eventually went with the 8" shank length I mentioned above, which was the closet adjustable one I could find. Good to know rufus is actually useful. I'll try it next time!
