Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

I was going to have the CCV2 upgrade done, but the mobile tech called me to tell.me that there is a revised CCV2 module being rolled out and suggested I wait. Has anyone heard anything about it?

I'm supposed to get the chip upgrade next week & obviously would want to know if something better is coming soon. I haven't heard anything, but please post when you learn more about the possibility of a revised CCCv2 coming out. Thanks.

I got my car back from the upgrade yesterday. My first impression is that it is WAY faster at almost everything. The responsiveness of the screen is excellent. The car seems to wake up faster when I open the app. It still isn't super fast, but seems noticeably better than it was before. The time seems more predictable too. I've noticed that the lane change cameras appear faster and don't seem as jittery. I'm still waiting for a good opportunity to check the reversing camera. I have experienced a frankly dangerous amount of latency in that camera image and I was hoping it would improve with the faster computer. I haven't had an opportunity to check it yet.

One major change for me is this:

I definitely did not have an option for master quality streaming as recently as a few months ago. I think the last time I checked was July, sometime after 2.7.0. I've always wondered why Tidal in the car was only offered at as high as HiFi level, and I was checking back after releases to see if it ever got access to the higher quality audio. I am very certain this was not offered to me before ~2.7.0 but am not sure if I checked in 2.8.0. The car came back with 2.8.4.

Did other people already have this quality level option? I have been signed into Tidal in my car since 2022. Maybe the option appeared because I had to sign in again in the new CCC? It seems unlikely to be an actually different option purely because of the CCC upgrade, I suspect something else happened as a side effect.

I have an appointment for installation at the end of October. Unfortunately, I don't have any other information about a revised controller board - hoping other forum members could shed some light.

I have an appointment for the CCC upgrade later this month. The Gravity is tempting but just too much car for the two of us. I plan to ride the Lucid to the end, just like my Pioneer Kuro plasma TV . The results maybe minimal now, but I view it as a little future-proofing.

With my nostalgia colored glasses on, the still functioning Kuro easliy beats my old 2nd generation LG OLED and edges my new 83" S90F Samsung. Black levels still unmatched!

Being an early adopter of the CCCv2 upgrade from Millbrae Service Center.

I saw increase in touch response, 360 Camera preview, Profile switching, and map loading right after they swapped it out.

However now that it has been a month from the upgrade, I am now seeing a lag in 360 Camera Preview and native lucid maps loading time.

I am wondering if that has something to do with the Memory Module or Storage Drive that could possible impact a revised CCCv2 to CCCv2.1.

Now now, how can your Kuro’s black levels surpass the perfect blacks of OLED? That I’ve never seen and I suspect it’s those nostalgic colored glasses! If you still feel that way upon removal of those glasses, then you better call your local ISF calibrator for a house call!

I’ve got 3 OLEDs (4 including a 32” kitchen OLED, which is actually a gaming monitor converted to a normal TV). One of the other OLEDs is an 8K OLED (I shoot 8K video), and as good as the blacks were on the Kuro, my retired Kuro couldn’t keep up with any of them.

+1 @scal_air you'll be amazed at how much better a top-end LG or Sony OLED picture looks compared to your old Kuro. And 77" is the new 65"!

I had the CCCV2 installed in December, no mention from service of a CCC V3, and frankly I wouldn't expect a V3 any time soon, as the CCCV2 just launched in mid-2024.

Me too. I am scheduled for this Thursday. Maybe I will postpone the installation.

Nope, I had the CCV2 module installed. They never mentioned an upgraded CCV2 again, just that they now had it in stock and could install it.

I believe all Sapphires already had the v2s from the very beginning. You can also just call your service center and they can confirm for you.

I just postponed mine, as well. I have no issues with lag times, and I don't think it's because I am more tolerant than most people. Further, for obvious reasons, I have little faith that UX3 for the Air will arrive anywhere near when Lucid says it will, if at all. There may very well be a CCCv> if/when it does. (Lucy) Lucid has pulled the football away from me enough times to make me wary. Meanwhile, I still love the car, and find it highly reliable, despite all the broken promises.

CCV2 is needed for update to UX 3.0, whicj is expected by the end of the year. After the recent youtube software reviews, I'm sure Lucid won't drop the ball again.
