I got the alert the last time my battery ran out; I haven't had the error again recently, so maybe it's not a low battery issue I'm having.
Five months into ownership and I still can't think of another ev I would have purchased. Other members may have alternatives they might have gone with, but I still don't. I considered them all! The Cayenne was the closest, but the points you mentioned along with others reasons would have made for an unwise purchase for me. The same with the Range Rover.I was surfing some of the other posts and would like to post a counterpoint to "software bugs shouldn't apply to a $100K car."
Let's look at it from another direction. To get the equivalent performance from another high performance BEV car, you have to look to the new Porsche Electric Cayenne Turbo. Although you don't get a third row or the interior volume, you get one hell of a high performance vehicle. Presuming they sort out the electronics as well as I hear the Macan Electric is, the alternative to my GDE is to spend close to a quarter million dollars.
I'm beginning to feel like I have a bargain! And, I won't see a bunch of cars just like mine in Oakland County.
If the "average" car price is now $50K and my Durango Hellcat is twice the cost of that, then the cost of my Lucid is basically spot on.
Yes, there are obvious software issues out here - knock on wood, my month old GDE has been flawless. That doesn't mean it doesn't tell me sensors are blocked or won't connect through the app unless it is sitting uder a cell tower, but it does make me smile every single time I walk up to it and enjoy the driving experience.
Thankfully, OTA will eventually fix software flaws. Until then, I just keep driving around feeling like I made the best automotive choice I could - for half the price and twice the uniqueness of a Cayenne.
And not to be insensitive to owners struggling with ownership. I truly, truly hope your ownership experience improves as the car does.Five months into ownership and I still can't think of another ev I would have purchased. I've been wanting a new car for a few years now since retirement. The only alternative to the Gravity would have been to keep waiting.
I absolutely love this car!
I like the challenge of keeping cars running. We'll see how long the Gravity runs.
Better late than an episode of KeyfobGate Part 2 if they deliver a faulty Paak, IMO.
Lucid: A no compromise Fluke multimeter included in every glove box. Ask Timothee.time to purchase a volt meter....and have a PEZ dispenser full of CR2450's
well, that's confidence inducing.the team and supplier working on the access controls for the fob is the same one responsible for the digital key
I like that he's saying it, a good way to manage expectations
I think this is preferred over releasing PaaK and then running into the same issues that we ran into w/ the keyfobs. Imagine the
We had this a bunch during our long road trip. Sometimes the seat adjustment app or the charging info app would freeze instead. A reboot would fix, but it's annoying.I have a new issue where often times after driving the “home” screen becomes unresponsive (the one which is accessed by tapping the vehicle icon). You cannot adjust any settings such as ride height, steering wheel, mirrors, lock / trunk, etc. It’s only this display / “page” that freezes.
On one hand, this is the right answer.Could be wrong but don’t think PAAK is coming anytime soon
Yes. I bought my lucid gravity one month ago and the key fob battery didn’t work, car will not pair to the key cards, 2nd row passenger side window won’t budge and the sun shade doesn’t roll up, 3rd row latch doesn’t work for the seats, didn’t realize you can’t really access the third row seats with two car seats in the 2nd row, air conditioning and heater make a loud whistling noise, lucid app interferes with Tesla app for using the membership monthly discount on Tesla app, warning signs pop up on my dash each time I charge my vehicle, and despite what they say, it takes an hour to charge at charging stations using non Tesla Ev superchargers. Did not expect this for a $123k brand new vehicle. Going to service station and they want me to drive over an hour to drop it off.Seeing loads of software issues with the Gravity so far! Most of them are just an inconvenience and part of the early ownership experience but wanted to create a thread for issues
Mine is in service for a permanently deployed handle. I was putting off dealing with it except the handle stopped operating the latch altogether. Also, the window on that door doesn’t work either. They told me it was likely due to the door module being damaged by water in the recent rains. But, I mean, it’s a car. It should be able to handle being in the rain. Hopefully I get it back next week and all is good.Since posting this the handle has been going through various phases:
1. Works normally
2. Stuck out and won’t retract at all
3. Stuck in and won’t present at all
4. Stuck out but will retract if I press lightly while locking
In any case I have a mobile appointment in a few weeks to fix it.
