Bosch (leading Automotive Tier-1) is demonstrating its Software-defined vehicle offering using Lucid Gravity as a demo vehicle…. (See LinkedIn post below that came in my feed).
HERE is also demoing its nav on Gravity!

I am on my way… will try to find time to check them out.

Having worked in the automotive space for some years, neither of those companies are good calling cards in the world of SDV (Software Defined Vehicles).

Bosch has a solid reputation as a Tier 1 for many automotive components, but is lagging in terms of software.

That said, some companies buy a vehicle for demos, and then modify it to showcase their new stuff. Meaning that what you see at CES does not necessarily mean it's going to be in the vehicle, much less in production now. QNX did this every year, choosing a Bentley one year even though Bentley vehicles had exactly zero QNX stuff in them.

That’s very different from Gizmodo’s story. Definitely makes me worried that Gizmodo is misreading the press release.

Gizmodo hasn't been a good or reputable source for years.
 
HERE is fairly awful. I’d prefer a AAA TripTik. I know others have different experiences, but it’s been unhelpful for me in the mid-Atlantic. I use Waze.

I will also say “Google” maps in our Rivian is pretty bad, too. It’s better than the old Rivian source, but still crappy.

CarPlay can’t come soon enough.

I didn’t even know Bosch made software except to support their motors or other Tier-1 stuff like suspensions.

Nice to have PR for Lucid but not the most stunning “partners”…

The press should interview actual drivers to find out what we thing about HERE's "advanced EV navigation" rather than just repeating press releases.

Agree. Seriously, my old AAA TripTik was more effective even though it had no traffic info (of course)…
 
Back to Bosch, the old Jalopnik review of the Gravity (like 8 months ago) praised the steering of the Gravity, attributing it to the Bosch steering unit, noting Bosch also supplies steering units to Porsche and BMW.

But, that's a far cry from a software defined vehicle. I wonder if the steering unit is even software updatable OTA, and if so, what Lucid has to do to make that happen.

Are you planning to go to any panel discussions or keynotes while you're there? I'd be interested in reports from the panels on which Lucid execs are speaking, none of which look like they'll be livestreamed:
