Gravity Bugs / Issues

This happened to me and it just corrected itself. I didn’t even call it in.
Don’t know if it was a hard reset overnight or if opening it once made it remember it was in teh open position.
Fingers crossed that mine does this too, although it’s already been rebooted and opened and closed a bunch with no changes.

If I can ask, how much was the PPF? Did you do the whole car or just the front? Thinking of getting it done.

I’ve had our EVs wrapped in the same way since 2017. “Partial PPF”, exterior ceramic coating over the entire body including the wheels, tinting of all windows.

In the beginning, eight years ago, the above work cost approximately $1700. This year, the same work cost $4300 approximately. On my most recent acquisition (GGT), I made an additional request, I asked for PPF to be applied to my windscreen on the exterior. I’ve never had this done but I’m hoping it will minimise or delay windshield pitting.

That additional job brought my bill to over $5000. I live in Southern California, where everything is dearer.

Can you elaborate?

Yes, I’ll try. Looking straight ahead and my eyes level, the projected image sits higher than I would prefer. To me it’s intrusive. I adjusted the image downwards as low as it would go, but it’s still in my way. I feel I have to look around the HUD instead of above it or through it.

Just took delivery of the Gravity. Very disappointed that its Homelink system won't connect with my garage door opener. Seems like such a basic technology. So far, I have not experienced a key issue.

Would you mind trying to take a video or picture of this? I don’t remember it being that way on my demo drives, but everyone sits differently at the wheel, er squircle.

I, too, find the lowest position still to be too far up into my primary field of vision while driving. And it's not helped by the inability to dim the display sufficiently with the slider bar.

And if the car nose is pointing up, such as going up a parking garage ramp or going over the canal bridge on our street, the HUD displays jumps right up to the center of the windshield, making it momentarily hard to see other objects until your eyes adjust.

I suspect this is a hardware limit in the projector lens range of movement and not something that can be addressed through software . . . although the issue with insufficient dimming should be addressable with an OTA update.

New issue yesterday… Drive system warning popped up, although is this a bug or no bug? It popped up and wouldn’t let me put vehicle in reverse, however, a reboot fixed the putting in gear issue. Error still there but only in the notifications section, no error triangle on the dash. Everything seemed fine, but little worrisome.

For the exterior windshield, is that one piece covering the entire length of the windshield and the glass canopy?
What brand did you use and what thickness?
What's the warranty?
Thanks.

I will inquire as to the brand. My invoice says only that it’s “Ceramic Pro WPF (Windshield Protection Film). It comes with a one year or 12,000 mile warranty.

I have to return the car to Cerami Pro on January the 5th. They released my car to me on Boxing Day, saying that the films used to cover the windshield on both sides are so wide that it takes two of their people to install. Unfortunately for me, one of their installers called in sick. Anyway, on the 5th, they’ll do their ten-day inspection for failures or peeling of the PPF and ceramic coating, and install both the exterior WPF and interior front windshield tint then. I was shown that as far as the exterior WPF is concerned, there will be a visible seam that will run across the midpoint of both sun visors. So, looking straight ahead, I will not see it.

Mine worked, although I had to try both garage door choices on the pilot panel. I had hit the "learn" button on the actual opener, but it timed out and I did not hit "learn" again, although I have with ALL cars preceding this one. Made sure battery in door opener was fresh and just held it on while moving along the front of the car slowly, underneath the light bar about 4 inches. Try any and all combinations of buttons - hopefully you'll find the right combination.

Good luck!

I agree with both of these comments. The HUD sits too high in the field of view, even with the seat raised. It interferes with seeing moving objects near the front of the car. Dimming it helps, but then it’s impossible to see with sunglasses. The HUD is near useless. The one useful feature, the blind spot indicators, could easily be moved to the cockpit screen.

Took me 3 attempts of the holding opener remote in front of bumper while holding open button. Then also had to then do the hit learn button on Garage opener for final sync.

In Atlanta I received a full front quote of $2700 (full bumper, full hood, full fenders, A pillars and side view mirrors. Edges wrapped where available)with Xpel Ultimate Plus film. Ceramic coating on rest of car - normally $2000, discounted to $1500 if done along with the front PPF. Xpel Fusion 4 year ceramic coating, with ceramic of all exterior glass and the faces of the wheels. Full body PPF with ceramic top coated (including all exterior glass and wheels)- normally $7200, but will discount to $6500 all in with touchscreen protector added.

I’m looking for confirmation that this is a pretty good price. Any feedback on anything else I should ask for is appreciated. I’m leaning toward the full wrap, although it’s a leased vehicle (that I’m likely to keep).

Apologies in advance that this is slightly off-topic, as it’s dealing with real bugs and not software bugs.

Funny! Prices are in line with what we pay in Detroit
Lol, I see I have the DE made after you, #195. I’ve had relatively few problems, other than the nuisance software bugs mostly corrected by the last software update. I was missing Tow Mode, which the Roswell SC finally got corrected. I hope ours was a good day on the assembly line!

It really seems to be, however I've only got a few hundred miles on it. Sometimes it doesn't remember me, etc. but those don't bother me - they'll work through those. Polestar still doesn't switch to my wife's profile from mine when she gets in, after 10 months - but, I don't drive her car anymore, so it isn't a problem anymore.

Couldn't be happier with my car! Dream Ahead!

Is this the new partnership that Lucid announced a while ago?

In my experience, it has been the easiest and quickest car to learn Homelink connections that I have ever had. I programmed 4 different connections, all without any issues or extra steps. Then Service had my car for 3 weeks () and they replaced the UCC (central computer), forcing me to do them all over again. Once again, no issues.

My only complaint is having to press the Homelink selection on the cockpit screen multiple times to get it to transmit. My Air has the same problem.

I wish they’d move that Homelink button to the pilot screen, where it’d be easier to reach, especially when you have to push it several times. Ideally, the Homelink buttons would be overhead physical buttons, like every other car (although it would likely be limited to 3 buttons).

Does anyone know what the limit of Homelink buttons is in the software? For example, If I have several houses with several garage doors and neighborhood entry grates?

I assigned Homelink to the programmable steering wheel button, that seams to work more consistently to open my garage.
