Lucid Air Grand Touring
Honeymoon is officially over with Lucid. A few weeks ago on a Saturday I'm driving with my entire family in the car and out of nowhere I get red lights flashing on the dashboard and alarms going off saying "System Failure, pull over now". There was no warning and the car died in the middle of the road about 5 seconds after I got the warning. Luckily, I was a mile from my house on a road with a 30 mph speed limit. Had this happened on a highway, my entire family would be dead. I cannot fathom what would cause this failure or why it would even be possible. After contacting Lucid Customer Care, I was able to get a tow back to my house. One important lesson I've learned is that if your Lucid breaks down on a weekend, you are in big trouble. Lucid was unable to get me a loaner vehicle and because most rental car places are closed, I was told I need to find my own rental car if I wanted one before Monday. A minor inconvenience but it seems implausible that Lucid would not have any backup plan to help their customers if they have a breakdown on a weekend.

From there, things get worse. My car sits in front of my house for about 4 days as that's how long it takes for Lucid to get a service tow truck to my house to take my car in for service. I live in North Texas, so the car needs to go down to Houston for service. It has now been about 2 weeks since they've had my car and I have heard nothing from them. I just got off the phone with the service center and my car is "still in queue" so no one has even looked at my car in these 2 weeks.

This is the 3rd time in 12 months that my car has needed to be towed away for service. I even posted on this forum previously on how great the experience was the first time it happened. Service has degraded each time. I've filled out every survey voicing my displeasure and told customer service multiple times that I'm not happy and I'd like to speak to someone who cares to keep my business. No one has contacted me and no one seems to care.

Given how it is possible for this car to just fail in the middle of the road without warning, and the fact that I've needed to have this car towed for service 3 times in 12 months, and this absolutely horrific customer service...I think I'm done with this car and this company. If you're in the market and considering Lucid, I'd run away as fast as you can.

That is scary. I think their service is overwhelmed with the massive amount of Gravities that launched with issues. I had issues getting service at first too, but once somone took ownership of the situation, it got handled.

Have you called customer service and asked for escalation?

Why was your Lucid towed the other 2 times? What did they find?

Did you get a rental/ loaner from Lucid on Monday? If you have a car to drive, I wouldn’t worry too much about a few weeks delay in getting it fixed.

Oh, boy. Here we go again. I'm not saying that the OP is not telling the truth, but why can't we limit the creation of posts to verified owners?

Bear in mind that non owners can research every answer under the sun with simple searches.
Because not all of us want to be "verified" in order to post. It's pretty easy to tell who has a car and who doesn't. I don't know why we pay so much attention to people who join the forum just to bitch about their cars and/or service experience.

Rather than attack the poster, focus should be on the underlying issue--multiple folks on this forum have reported their cars suddenly bricked in the middle of the road without warning. It happened twice to a friend of mine with an AGT.

I've been lucky (so far) with my Air Pure and I'm a Lucid evangelist, but if that happened to me I'd probably be out too.

I did NOT attack. I first conceded that the OP was at least as likely as not a legitimate poster. What's the dig deal with me asking that he/she takes the few minutes required to be a verified poster?

I did call and emailed and they said they are handling service on a first come first served basis. Didn’t realize they were overwhelmed with Gravity issues but I think 2 weeks with nothing is pretty egregious

First time it was to replace the battery which was not performing well. Second time was to replace the Drive Assist, which stopped working out of the blue one day.

Hey Bob,

My comment wasn't directed at you, sorry if I was unclear. Just observing a tendency on this forum to sometimes discount negative posts based on when the OP joined or frequency of posts, rather than focus on the substance of the complaint.

I wouldn't "take the few minutes" to become a verified poster, because a) I don't care to be one; and b) I don't like leaking identifiable information about myself on the Internet.

So no, not everything is about time.

I am not trying to stifle anybody's valid issues, but the reality is that there are people who have a reason for spreading FUD about a company on forums such as these, and they often manifest themselves in the waning days of a company's fiscal quarter, as is the case right now. Make no mistake that posts such as this, even when not intended as such, will be a reason for some people to change their minds about Lucid. I concede that I may be in the minority, but especially because of totally damning post titles such as this, however valid they may be, I think the bar should at least be high enough to let us know that the person creating the post actually possesses the vehicle that they are complaining about.

I also don't get the privacy argument about the inherent risks of providing the forum admin with a (not to be published) verified owner VIN. I think far more privacy concerns arose when you gave the admin your email address. Perhaps we can at least 'agree to disagree' on that.

You don't use burner email addresses?

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I am also based out of North Texas and it is high time we have a service center here, given we have the highest share of Lucid vehicles in the entire state. Were they able to give you a Lucid vehicle as the loaner?

This is a problem throughout social media. Nation-states commit significant resources to interfering with processes in other countries deemed harmful to their self interests. It is definitely done on a smaller scale as well. Some of the "drive-by" hit pieces here that slam Lucid may fall into that category. It is just so hard to know for sure. This thread feels legit to me, but you never know. I don't have an answer as to how to vet posters, but I definitely feel it is an issue on virtually every forum I visit. No offense to the OP.

I guess I don't really see any problem with requiring people who want to post on this forum having to provide a valid VIN# to verify they are in fact an owner. For myself if I see a posting that is not from a verified owner I tend to discount the validity of the posting. If it were up to me I would require all posters (good and bad) to be verified by the administrators.

Just pulled this stat off the main page:

Active members or supporting members?

Those 38 are just members, of whom some may be active and some may be supporting. Another interesting data point is that @SaratogaLefty and I are the only two verified owners that have replied to this thread thus far.
