How to access camera views?

So while we’re at it does the gravity automagically turn on the rear camera when in reverse. Does it have guidance lines for backup?

Also, both Rivian and Tesla allow some cameras to be on all the time if you choose - even at 70mph. Personally, that makes me sick, but it’s an option.

Yeah but comes in handy when you convinced your buddy to lie on the mattress to hold it down while you drive in home in your R1T. If nothing else you'll have the video of him flying out the back of your truck on the 405 FWY.

Are we supposed to have surround camera view if we only have the base DreamDrive2? I'm not finding it. I only get the forward camera view when in D and the rear camera view when in R.

I don't get turning cameras displayed anywhere when in D and activate the turn signal either. Is that correct for DD2?

You do NOT get 3D surround view with “base” DD2.

You should have blind spot cameras come on right in front of you to left or right of speed when you turn blinkers on - that’s included on all trims and is not an option.

Well that's a significant disappointment for a car at this price point. There's cameras all over this thing.

I have no interest in hands-free highway driving, so I opted not to pay for that. But I missed the fact that they withhold some pretty basic stuff too.

But would I have paid an extra $2000 for that?... No. So I guess it doesn't matter now anyway.

Not sure what to say - it’s generally clear on their site, as you posted, with respect to surround view. You could also have asked before spending $100k….not sure what’s up with blind spot cameras, but again, you could have asked. Caveat emptor. Especially in a first gen car with a start up company. Just sayin’. Not trying to be an a-hole, but as you noted, it’s a very expensive car, so I expect folks to ask questions, do research, read the forum, etc.

DD2Premium would have been the sweet spot for me as, like you, I could care less about handsfree driving. And I don’t have certainty about features promised in the future. That said, I paid more because DD2Pro is what I could get earlier.

Well, sure, of course it's the buyer's responsibility to see what's included. But let's not pretend there's not a ton of features on these things and the list is not always entirely clear what a particular feature is. Some of it gets glossed over as "not entirely sure what that is, but sounds ok". You thought it was included too.

As I said, I wouldn't have spent $2000 just to get turn signal camera view anyway. Wasn't a priority so I didn't dig deep on that one like the priority wants. I was just surprised it wasn't included on a $100k car that has 20 cameras and sensors.

That's why I chose DDPrem. Like you I have no interest in FSD but wanted blind spot cams and aerial view when backing in to park

Yeah, 3D parking view would have been nice to have. Even my Mustang Mach-E had that at half the price. I just missed that this $100k car didn't have that without paying even more. I was focused on not wanting FSD-like automony and missed that "DreamDrive 2" was actually a bunch of routine stuff too. I'd already nickel-and-dimed it from $96k up to $108k and was too quick to dismiss autonomy.

I rarely actually used it in the Mach-E. But it has the charge port in the front, not the rear. Gonna do more backing in in the Gravity. Oh well, just gonna have to do without now. Same with no kick-to-open liftgate, which my last 4 vehicles had. Just surprised this very expensive car doesn't automatically include what IMO are some pretty basic functions for a premium-level car (it's certainly premium priced).

I really only came into this thread to see if mine had a bug (which they so often do) for not showing the blind spot cams when turning.

Many regulars here, myself included, just watch the "new posts" feed and had gotten used to every post being about Air up until the past few months. So yes this is a Gravity thread in a Gravity sub-forum, but that's why I pointed it out - some of the earlier commenters were I think not noticing all the Gravity-ness and answering from an Air perspective.

Only for Gravity, for Air it can't be adjusted.
