Lucid Air 2.8.9

Thanks. I didn’t realize there was a screen upgrade available. I did know of the CPU upgrade offer. Very cool. Something new to look into. Thanks again.
That guy is misspeaking. There is only the CCC v2 upgrade and it only affects the infotainment functions. It has no bearing on the driver’s screen behind the steering wheel.

Before you shell out a grand for CCC v2, I suggest you find out what version of CCC v1 you are on, and also seriously assess if your infotainment system is slow enough to warrant the expenditure. As for my 2023 Pure AWD, I was confused as to the various complaints. Subsequently, I found out that my car is on the very last (7th) version of CCC v1. I imagine it's the considerably older version(s) that have more noteworthy lag times.

To be clear... By 'lag times' I'm not talking about those people who are staring at blank screens or reboot logos. That's got to be due to something else. I'm talking about making a selection, and it taking more than a few nanoseconds to execute.

I'm not sure what's going on with this release but my mileage is thru the roof. I've been very consistent at 3.8 m/kW for 3&1/2 years. Suddenly, I'm way up.

My precessor "Since Last Trip" was 4.36 m/kW for 30kW consumed with mostly highway driving.

My current one is 5.16 m/kW for 9 kW consumed. I usually don't bother looking until 10 kW consumed because otherwise I don't feel it's sufficiently accurate.

This is nuts, in a good way.

I've also been getting higher efficiency numbers on the pilot panel. Not sure if it's real or not but I generally get about 4mi for every 1% drop before and after the upgrades. One number I wish the graphic keeps track of is the average mi/hr. That along with the other values already given would give me an idea of the relative battery health.

Anyone still waiting on 2.8.9? I’ve got the intermittent frozen screen and other issues, hoping 2.8.9 will solve. I’m being patient but 3 weeks now and still don’t see it and looks like most got it within a few days. Any ideas?

I too have been confused about the lag complaints as I see no lag that bothers me at all or I’m even aware of. If in the future I find the new chip is required for some new, desirable feature, I’ll swap it out then…assuming I still have the car.

Wasn't aware there were different versions of the old CCC. My early 2023 build car had tolerable lag but CCCv2 is a clear improvement. Maybe I'm just impatient.

I noticed an improvement as well

To clarify... I was not saying that replacing later versions of CCC v1 would not result in an imprvement. There clearly would be. I was just suggesting that you assess whether or not your lag times are annoying enough to warrant a $1k expenditure, and to let you know at least one reason why some owners may be more unhappy with their lag times than others.

How do you identify which version you have and how old it is in comparison to other versions?

To my knowledge, that level of detail is only available when the car is plugged into Lucid's diagnostic/maintenance software. It's not something you can determine via VIN codes or the Unofficial Lucid API (at least in its present form). I was told that mine was the 1.7 version, and that it was the last iteration before V2 was introduced.

I have no idea how to determine the progression of prior versions over time.

I was actually hoping it would take care of the Tidal functionality issues that came up when Android integration was added. It did not.

I believe starting 2024, all were equipped with V2. There were a few cars in late 2023 that also received V2s. I wish they would include that info on the app or website...

I don't think the above is correct. My 2023 Air Pure AWD was both built and delivered during 11/23, and I was told that various 2024 models were on the manufacturing line at the same time. Supposedly, I got CCC v1.7 because that's what was going into all the cars on the line, regardless of trim or model year. (Maybe not the Sapphire.) I was also told was that v1.7 was the last iteration of CCC v1. I don't know when CCC v2 went into production, but if the information I was given is correct, it sounds like it was later in the 2024 model year, at best.

One benefit to 2.8.9 I've noticed but held off mentioning until I had more data...
I have a ChargePoint Home Flex charger. It doesn't play nice with Lucid, based on my own experience, and comments on this forum. It has been my experience at the end of nearly every charge, it goes into a fault mode and won't charge again without a reboot. The issue has been discussed with ChargePoint, and I've received multiple warranty replacements for this and other reasons.
With 2.8.9, the problem seems to have gone away. No faults, just a normal end of charge, ready for the next charge.
Now charging with 2.8.16 - I hope the results are the same.
