Maybe time for a new thread for owners who report *no* problems, (or at least, very few)

'22 AGT/ '26 GGT
Reading through the 3.3.9 update thread, and there are a lot of posts from people reporting some issues after the update, as is usually the case. I'm also texting with a local guy who is about to take delivery of his own GGT as a first-time Lucid buyer, and he's a little concerned. I've been a member of this forum for over 3 years, since we took delivery of our '22 AGT. Yes, the original software was buggy, and yes, many people had some serious problems with their cars. In our case, I figured that we had just gotten lucky, and aside from some random issues that arose from time to time, the car was incredible, and just got better and better over time. I took delivery of my GGT exactly a month ago. I should have had 3.3.2 installed, but didn't, so I've been through all the updates since then. Yes, after the upgrade to 3.3.5 I had to do a fob battery reset to get the car to recognize it, but otherwise, things have been nearly flawless. The occasional false alerts popped up here and their, but since the firmware update, and the latest upgrade to 3.3.9, I can't remember the last time I saw one. (I did get a 'key not found' message at one point, but that was legit- a buddy was trying out the launch mode, and apparently it was enough to launch the key out of my pocket to land under the 2nd row).

I guess my point to all of this is to suggest an alternative to the majority of the recent posts that highlight nothing but (mostly) software problems. The broad consensus seems to be that the car is well built, and engineering marvel, and an absolute dream to drive. But.. It also has a lot of software issues. I suspect that for a lot of owners- including myself- this doesn't apply.
In my case, the car has been fantastic. No real issues at all, and maybe that should be a message that we could also be highlighting on this board.

This is not to diminish or disregard the real problems faced by many of the posters here- clearly, their experiences are real, and troubling (@hmp10 - I'm looking at you. Don't know how you managed not to burn the whole place down). I guess I just don't know how representative they are of the overall universe of Gravity owners. I had similar thoughts when we got our Air. Sure, the software was lacking, but it didn't detract from the overall experience at all, and it got better pretty quickly. I didn't say much about it on the forum at the time, because I didn't want to jinx myself, thinking that I was in a lucky minority. Speaking to people since then, I've come to realize that my experience was actually pretty typical for the early adopters, and I suspect that it's the same for the Gravity.

At any rate, just a thought

I took delivery 7/22 and have had only one real issue AB’si called the SC and they fixed it over the air and within 30 minutes I was in the road. I love my GGT Yes, I have had some minor software glitches, nothing has made me not love my car.

Over 7k miles so far and the VAST majority of that has been amazing. Definitely some stumbles here and there but the software updates have just been getting better. Haven't had a key not found or unable to start the car in months, nit since my original lockout which was bad, but w it is significantly better in that regard. Very happy to own this car and I look for reasons every DAY to drive it! I'm HAPPY to drive to work bc I get to drive this car! Can't wait for my big holiday travel trips next month!

I agree that too many posts here are complaints.

I get it that people come here to vent and find solutions / explanations / sympathy.

@Gandalf you keep referring to "real issues", but it's subjective. Maybe some people don't listen to music when driving, but for me a randomly broken music app is a real issue.
I paid over 2k for a Pro sound system, so when it goes mute or randomly malfunctions in other ways it's a real issue for me, despite perfectly driveable vehicle.
I've been very upset in the first week of GGT ownership over grotesque software quality, but have since calmed down, developed workarounds and got used to it.
The car is amazing and I don't regret buying it, but I'm a life long technologist and EV enthusiast, so maybe not a typical representative of Lucid's target market for Gravity?
I also doubt that most prospective buyers will discover this forum prior to purchase, so average temperature on this forum neither helps nor hurts Lucid's bottom line.

Of course it's subjective, and my intent was in no way to minimize anyone's experience or pooh-pooh anyone's complaints or frustrations. My goal here was just to have a place for people who haven't experienced issues to chime in. Hey- I paid for the sound system, and I absolutely love it- even renewed my Tidal subscription to hear the difference, and it's amazing. I'm absolutely NOT a technologist, so I have no explanation for why it happens to work for me and not for thee. I desperately wish that everything worked well for everyone, but clearly, it doesn't. To my original point- lots of us aren't experiencing your problems, and in the interest of full disclosure for everyone, those stories need to be told as well.
Best of luck- hope that this update (or the next one, or the next one etc.) can fix it.

No one wants to minimize anyone's issues. This thread is just to keep on the positives. Please keep posting up on the bugs and issues on the threads meant for them.

What someone might think is a minor glitch, might be someone's terrifying nightmare. Ok I know I exaggerate, but most people don't expect to hard reboot a car- the Tesla ownership model has normalized a lowered functionality bar- it's within "spec". I'm not complaining and I have two service appointments coming up to deal with my gravity issues, and those issues are manageable, but not convenient and I wouldn't expect those issues from other manufacturers. Caveat emptor... While we expect that the situation with lucid or any manufacturer shouldn't be this way, this is all part of the capitalist innovation cycle. If you want bullet proof, my old toyota Volvo and acura worked 99% of the time with nearly no issues outside of regular maintenance, but I didn't expect to rely on this vehicle, so count me happy with my gravity.

I am another happy customer in the “no significant problems” camp. I’ve had my GGT for 2 months and love the car. I have had none of the major problems others have been unfortunate to experience: never been locked out or stranded, music always works, AC doesn’t try to blow me out of the car, frunk doesn’t do a double hitch, app never said vehicle was off line, etc. I had to use my keycard a couple of times back on 3.3.2, but haven’t had a fob issue since.

Is the software perfect? No. I have had occasional bugs (e.g. nav location not being synced on the two screens, phantom error messages, etc.), but those have always disappeared by themselves or after a soft reboot and haven’t affected driving.

My sense is the “negativity” about which folks speak is largely from the bugs thread which, as folks have pointed out, is a thread focused on bugs and issues. There are, of course, other threads focusing on issues.

If you “live” in those threads, it’s an echo chamber. No one knows how widespread or debilitating these issues are or have been. If you’ve experienced some of them (and I have), it’s brutal. And aside from what appear to be a small set relatively, few folks have been left high and dry - but have been frustrated.

My advice - spend time in as many threads as you can, keep an even keel, and leverage the insight of the community here.

I am happy to have plenty of threads here and super informed folks to both objectively point out issues and hold Lucid accountable and shout praise where it’s due.

I definitely get the intent of this thread.
Balanced reporting is important, not just in journalism. :)

Love my GGT!

Owner since August 9th. Absolutely NO regrets.
Had one issue (key card not recognized by center console NFC reader) that was rectified with a new console.
Mobile tech diagnosed; took awhile for console to become available; tech stayed on it until one was found; done.

One instance of key fob not being recognized.
Black screens for a few seconds, occassionally; brake pedal push wakes them up in those instances.
Fewer occurences with each update.

Like @9point81 I love driving this thing and am definitely driving it more often than I anticipated because it is so much fun.
Cruising along jamming to the awesome sound system; Daft Punk; Earth, Wind, & Fire; and more never sounded so good!

My granddaughters love this thing.

I honestly don't care what the reviewers say about the other EVs in the three-row segment; there is nothing else I would buy.
The new Cayenne looks like it would now be a second choice for me, but knowing how Porsche nickels and dimes you with options, the Gravity's value works for me.
Yet, we know that value is subjective.

My advice - spend time in as many threads as you can, keep an even keel, and leverage the insight of the community here.
Note to prospective buyers: 👆 (That right there above)!

I spent a fair amount of time on this forum before my AGT. I read positive and negative reviews to have a good appreciation of the pros and cons prior to buying. And my experience (fairly short) has been positive.

What I have noticed on this forum is that there are on occasion “thread hijackers” who feel the need to repeat their grievances regardless of whether they’re on point with the discussion at hand. This is somewhat unique in comparison to other forums I’m on. But I will say that the moderators are usually engaged when this happens.

Take it elsewhere to the bugs thread. We don't need to hear it in every thread. Not the purpose of this one.

This thread is for people who overall have had great experience with minor issues to balance the doom and gloom of the bugs thread.
