Does anyone know what this red highlighted door means?

My car has been in the shop for a week, first to fix some trim that the service center ruined by running the car through a touchless car wash, and also a window seal issue.

While the car was in service the update to 3.3.1 failed, which eventually led them to “overnight” a new center console on a Friday. It still hasn’t arrived unfortunately so I have no idea when I’ll have it back.

Door is open with some other fault. I had it on my car when they had to work on window and interior panel was removed. Specifically, I believe it’s a fault with the door latch.

Does anyone else have the issue, mainly at sundown/dawn or nighttime with the HUD background screen changing light levels? When I'm driving at night, there is a pronounced square projected on the windshield in addition to the HUD data. That square is constantly changing intensity. I'm assuming that all I should be seeing are numbers and not a reflection of the entire screen in the windshield. Hoping that this is just another issue along with the white "blob" artifact specific to this HUD display and that they will plan on replacing it once my home service appointment takes place next week.

That sounds like the auto-brightness adjusting to the brightness outside. You can dim down the HUD in the settings to eliminate the HUD square backlight.

Although, I have experienced the HUD dimming way too much in some instances.

Unless, is your HUD constantly adjusting brightness level regardless of how dark/bright outside is?

My windows are not open. Stop freaking me out every time I precondition my car. If I tap the icon to close my windows, they will, in fact, be open. I’d like to have an honest relationship here.

Finally turned HUD on to give it a try recently, I still think it's far far away from being even a good starter for me. I personally have my seat configured pretty high to relieve stress for my leg/low back. The HUD is not focused at all unless I either lower the seat and/or adjust the HUD to the very bottom. There probably needs to be some auto or semi-manual calibration in relation to seating position and driver height/eyes. I also observed in certain situations it seems the projection tilts/slants left right - kind of weird - but when an object is close to the car it flattens back correctly.

In any case, HUD back to being off for me until a few more significant updates.

LOL; my first summer job (in high school) was converting a statistical analysis program from FORTRAN to... Visual Basic.

I once computerized a dental office using Windows '95 workstations back in the day...does that count??
It was hard if not impossible to get a network of these workstations to communicate smoothly with each other or with other devices through the primitive NT Server in those days!

I don't know about auto- or semi-manual calibration, but I do know the HUDs have to be calibrated. Our HUD unit had to be replaced due to a severe screen distortion, and the Service Center has thus far been unable to calibrate it because they cannot get the software to load in order to turn the HUD on. I asked whether a mobile tech could calibrate it later at home but was told it has to be done at a Service Center.

My key fob worked well for awhile...now it works about 60-70% of the time. It always opens and closes the door. The problem is wnen the car says "key fob not recognized," it won't shift into gear. Hopefully, is not a hardware issue. Very peculiar. It seems as the fob tends to work more consistently if the car is locked when you approach. I am still working on that theory.

Seems to me (and I'm admittedly straight up guessing from everything I've read here and on other Lucid forums) if installing the console a certain way bends a(n) important connector(S) that over time cause intermittent or eventually total disconnect of some important wire (like to the console antenna that is suppose to detect the fob/key card OR the hardware module that transmits the GPS/nav/proper timezone etc..) then it isn't the fob itself nor the key cards and @msaunders9430's tech is spot onto something critical and thank goodness fixable at the SC or perhaps even these awesome mobile techs. Anyone else feeling like this might just explain a lot of these issues here?
Anyone from LUCID on here to confirm or deny this? I want my Lunar Titanium rocket ship to be ready to go when I get it!!

Yeah I think that’s the most plausible explanation. It might explain the Bermuda Triangle thing @Ron_Burgundy has going on as well as if wiring that becomes faulty crosses other wiring in a certain manner it can cause electromagnetic interference. It’s pretty remarkable the sorts of random havoc a bad harness or bad connection can cause. My Air GTs HVAC issue was isolated down to a single wire with too high resistance, and fixing that cured my HVAC cutting out or underperforming. I had a 1986 Volvo 240GL wagon that would have all sorts of random false warning lights come on depending on weather conditions/temperature/road quality.

Hear, hear!! I’ve posted this before, but it illustrates your point perfectly. A coworker parked his *actual* minivan next to my Gravity and said he couldn’t understand the minivan comparisons folks make about the Gravity.

Argh, starting to see some of the issues that others have encountered on this thread. One positive in all this is that I'm less freaked out when they happen, it's less of a "is my car possessed" situation and more of a bemused "here's another instance of this bug that hopefully Lucid has enough data in the field for them to patch in a later version":

• Car takes longer than expected to boot up, inconsistent at best
• Repeated confirmations of updated firmware, even though it's been and still is on 3.3.1
• Notification that the keyfob needs to be shaken to be detected; shaking it didn't work, but manually unlocking the doors via the keyfob seemed to do the trick
• The driver's seat reclining all the way back when we get into the car the first thing in the morning
• The car failing to shift back from its automatic easy in/out position when I get it ready to drive

No major hardware issues yet, though <knock on wood> there.

Gosh darn it. I picked up my car from service a week ago and, among other things, it got the fob update, etc.

All worked fine for seven days.

Yesterday, wireless charging stopped working and today the fob won’t start the car at all (spotty yesterday), won’t lock the car and sometimes will open it. It has a brand new battery.

I desperately do NOT want to take it in as I don’t want to have to wait weeks like @msaunders9430 had to for center console, but that’s got to be what it is as I have an “early-ish” Gravity and I bet they didn’t do the bulletin check when it was there a week ago.

Argh. I LOVE this car. It drives so well and is so incredible AND this fob stuff and my Bermuda Triangle consoles make me feel like I am driving an Ouija board.

Well, SC says they’re not related. But based on folks here, when a mobile tech comes to work on fob, I bet he’ll say something about the center console stopped having an issue. Though the key card works…for now.

Frustratingly, SC doesn’t know anything about a center console bulletin or issue. Which is weird, because I think @msaunders9430 goes to same SC at Tysons and is literally getting a new console today.

I love the SC team. They’re responsive and try to help. But they seem to be less informed about Gravity issues than many folks in the forum, which is challenging.

@Ron_Burgundy if it helps any, I go to the Mechanicsville SC (located in Mechanicsville,VA; central VA).

It really is wierd that your key fob is not functioning at the sw update.
My center console issue is a definite hardware-related issue (broken connector).

One comment the service tech made during dropoff this morning may have some relevance to your situation and others.
He said after he updates the key fob the range will greatly increase.
He and other techs had been testing the fob range after the update and he said the fob was being recognized from across the parking lot; a great distance.
That leads me to believe the issue is software related.

Funny. I was in SB a few weeks ago parking in the lot right along the beach. An older gent referred to the Gravity as a wagon. "I didn't realize Lucid made a wagon!"

Of course, yours truly, 1. didn't correct him and 2. always hits "lowest" on the suspension every time I park.

I dropped my car off at the Mechanicsville sc this morning for the console replacement.

Context:
The sc is located behind the main building of a local auto body shop.
Most of the buildings where work is done are behind a fenced area; some you can see before entering the fenced area.
Months before taking delivery of my Gravity I had visited the site to see the sc, but the gate to the fenced area was closed, so I did not see the actual sc.
During that visit I talked to an employee of the body shop who confirmed that Lucid rented a space behind their main building

The shop does body work and other service on all kinds of cars. After driving through the fenced area today I saw several Porsches, Audis, Teslas, Rivians, etc. around the various buildings. Then I saw what had to be the Lucid sc since there were three Airs parked nearby.
I couldn't believe my eyes.

Totally NOT what I expected to see.
An ammunition depot? A military bunker? No the Lucid Mechanicsville service center.
Two service techs had already come out while I remained in my car until just before my appointment time.
I had to take a picture.

I've been to the Tysons Corner service center.
The facility is fantastic.
What I was looking at was a stark contrast.
I respectfully mentioned to the service tech that the building what not at all what I was expecting, especially after having been to the Tysons Corner location and knowing the luxury branding of Lucid. He said the inside what nicer.
He proudly stated he enjoyed his work and had been at the location since 2022 when they were servicing cars as far north as the Maine and Vermont before the KOP and another service center opened.
He indicated that Lucid is considering new sc locations based on sales volume by state and region.
So, I hope this a temporary situation.
However, it has existed since 2022.

Does anyone else's service center look like what's shown below?
Should I not be surprised?
