Yosemite interior arm rest question

In sitting in a Yosemite interior briefly in a showroom, I notice that the arm rests are made of the same coarse fabric of the door panels. While it didn't seem uncomfortable for just the seat test in the showroom, I'm wondering how they fare on a day to day basis with a bare elbow resting on that fabric?

Any owners with the Yosemite interior have some feedback on the arm rest comfort?

Really? That seems very odd. Which arm rests do you mean, specifically?

Well the only one I touched was the driver's door arm rest. It was made of the same coarse fabric as the driver's door panels. From the pictures, it looks like all of the door arm rests are the same material.

For contrast, the center armrest for the driver and front passenger is made of a similar synthetic leathery material as the seats. The seats were really comfortable as I expected.

They weren't exactly "un"comfortable in the showroom, but I only tested them for a few seconds. When you've been on the road for an hour with your elbow resting on them, it may be a different story...

Yuck. That material would not be great for an arm rest. This is a terrible photo of the arm rest with Tahoe. Just Tahoe leather and wood. I guess if you get Purluxe you get that wool-like arm rest? That’s really odd to me as Lucid is sensitive to materials where folks touch them, etc.

Yes, I can confirm that the other Gravity they had (the test drive vehicle) with the Tahoe trim had leather on the arm rests and you can see this in the pictures in the configurator as well.

The regular Purluxe interiors have this as well, but I would expect the Premium Purluxe to have a nicer material where you are going to rest your elbow.

I wasn't a huge fan at first either...though getting a DE, I only had 2 options with Tahoe being the only real leather. That being said, the interior color has very much grown on me since the first time I saw it and didn't originally like it either.

Tahoe and Ojai are both leather, Mojave and Yosemite are both Purluxe.

I had originally ordered Mojave but switched to Tahoe after driving one with it.

Ugh. That is limiting. Ojai doesn’t even look grey to me. Not sure what it looks like. Not awful. I’d go with one of the leathers before I had that wool-like armest. That’s an awful surface and I don’t like it on side of center console. Our X has something similar in the door, but not as “scratchy” and not where you’d touch it.

Ojai is pretty close to khaki (a darker one at least).

So weird, both that they would do that and that I had not noticed. The Gravity we test drove several months ago had the Yosemite interior, and seeing (to my surprise) how nice it looked in natural outdoor lighting, we decided to order one of our Gravities in it. Also, since our other Gravity has the Tahoe interior and only the two colors are offered in the Dream, we didn't want both cars with the same interior, particularly as I have never been more than lukewarm about the Tahoe. I completely failed to notice the door armrest material was different from the center armrest material with the Yosemite.

I doubt if it had anything to do with wear and durability, as I suspect the center armrest gets just as much wear, if not more.

There are actually 3 interiors I think.

Purluxe is the base level, only in black.
Purluxe Premium is an upgraded version, in black or white for $2900.
Leather is available in Tahoe (light brown, baseball mitt, or orange depending on viewer) or Ojai (dark brown/"terracotta") for $4200.

The description of Purluxe Premium compared to the base Purluxe is identical for the purluxe parts and the only difference is that it comes with 18-way seats and the headliner, pillar trim, and sun visors switch from textile to microsuide.

Update - Oh, and one other odd thing. All 3 Purluxe entries (both base and 2xPremium) specifically list "Door armrests (rear)" under the Purluxe materials heading...?

If I recall correctly, the leather door panels look all one piece with just stitching across the seam between the door and the arm rest. But, the Yosemite interior I saw seemed like the driver's arm rest might have been a different piece. Wondering if I can order a sheet of the material used for the center arm rest and have an upholsterer apply it to the door arm rests.

The Yosemite vehicle I've been looking at is the one at Millbrae which has a couple of "is that really a final build or an engineering sample" issues with it, so maybe that isn't the final state of the interior - but it does match the pictures in the configurator...

To answer your question, I have the same material on the arm rests of my '23 Air Pure AWD. I would prefer the same material as the center armrest, but I wear short sleeve shirts almost all the time, and I'm fine with it. I noticed it being a bit scratchy at first, but very quickly got used to it. That said, I'm glad that the center armrest is not made with that material, as it gets a lot more use and arm movement.

It's odd that they even say that they put purluxe on the back seat door armrests explicitly, but that's not the case even though I'd love to see that (on both rows).
