This is the kind of thing that really irks me with Lucid. It’s the constant teasing and no delivery. You can see in this marketing ad that they’re making out that you can watch movies etc. on the Gravity already when we all know you can’t nor have they shared any ETA on when this will be available.

I understand that this is not the point of this post, but I am curious as to why the movie being played wont be on the more traditional shaped pilot panel, instead of taking up a small space within the infotainment screen up top?

Yeah, that’s also weird when the promo video loaded into the car shows it on the pilot panel.
 
Agreed. There's a ton of things to love about the Gravity in it's current state, try advertising those and not features you're promising for the future.

Advertising features that aren't available yet mean disappointed customers which can only lead to pushing features that aren't ready and tech debt.

I doubt this is the reason. I don't it will be as hard to set a variable for the video display depending on model than to make it play on multiple Lucid models.
 
The description on YouTube does state: "...with future updates you'll be able to turn your Lucid Gravity cabin into a fully immersive cinematic experience." (emphasis mine)
 
Lucid confirmed the error and have either rectified or removed the posts. Have now said it’ll come in a future update.
 
I just hope we can move the movie to the larger lower screen
 
I’d rather watch it on my iPhone if they implement it in the upper display. That would be absurd from a size/scale perspective.

Honestly, I never used this in my Tesla and never really tried it in my R1S.

There are about 100 software features or enhancements that are more important to me.

But agree, they shouldn’t advertise it - even as a future feature. There are so many reasons a Gravity is a more desirable option that an X or R1S - focus on those. Like how it drives. How much space it has, far more upscale interior, etc.

Yeah, you can just watch on your phone...or ipad. Having screens in cars to watch movies is redundant and a waste.

It's the, "But wait...there's more...."

I don't know the size of their software team, but I suspect it's not small.

They can do more than one thing at a time. And as much as some managers would like to believe otherwise, developers are not fungible. And as others have mentioned, the man-month is mythical.

The upper screen is in a great place for the driver's seat, and the center can show any aspect ratio without letterboxing. It would actually be a great place to watch CinemaScope movies.

I'm not sure where I saw it, but I had the impression the movies could (future) play on all three screens.

As for watching on phone or tablet, it's often hard to find a place to prop up a screen in the front of a car. We have the tray tables, but that means moving to the 2nd row.
