I think it's safe to assume that if both could be easily updated, then that's what they would've offered. I recall when they first started talking about the hardware differences between the 2025 vehicle and older vehicles, people asked the upgrade question and were told, "it's not a given that we'll be able to do it....there's a ton of interconnected systems." My guess is this upgrade represents what they CAN do in a reliable way that doesn't cost a fortune in labor and can actually scale. If it was just a drop-in chip replacement on both computers, it's reasonable to think they would've offered it. If someone with inside knowledge or a better understanding can shed some light, please do...but as a software engineer who has worked on distributed systems for around 30 years, that's my first take.Basically 2 computers should be retrofitted for smooth UI…
