2023 Lucid Air Touring
I did it! After a couple months of checking the Lucid website and 2 1/2 weeks of waiting, I purchased a 2023 Lucid Air Touring and traded in my Mustang Mach E this week. Both were done directly with Lucid and online.
Some thoughts re: my experience for anyone who's considering the same:
- Overall, it was a painless and relatively easy experience
- My car was in California and it was shipped to me here in Pennsylvania. It didn't move for 2 weeks, and then made the cross-country trip (covered 3rd-party carrier) in 3 days. Took delivery at the King of Prussia studio
- I was assigned a "concierge" from Lucid HQ. Emane was GREAT and helped me thru every step of the process until my car arrived at the KOP studio
- I (believe) I received the same "white glove" treatment as a new purchase, including the "covered reveal" and the Lucid team member (Justin - also great) spending an hour+ with me going over the car. He even installed the sunroof shades for me prior to leaving
- I traded in my Mach E thru Lucid as well, but it was actually thru their partnership with KBB
- I received what I thought was a fair price. Did a 20-minute walk-around via Teams with a KBB rep. Uploaded and signed documents electronically. Handed over my title and keys at the studio and that was it.
GREAT:
- Ease of process
- Lucid team - Emane and Justin were both fantastic
- The car! OK, I'm a couple of days in, but it just seems perfect
- This Forum. Steered me to the Lucid used cars website, helped me choose my model, warned me about 21" summer tires here in Pennsylvania, gave me a great delivery checklist. Thank you, All.
PAIN POINTS:
- The 2-week wait (that's on me - they warned me up front)
- Wheels! I specifically wanted 19" wheels for the range. Found my perfect Zenith Red AT. But when the PDF arrived later, it said 21" wheels. Noooo! When it got to the studio, I called and asked about purchasing 19" wheels and asked the service tech (Alex) to double check. He did - called me right back - and the car did in fact have 19" wheels (whew). They ended up cancelling my order, re-booked as a brand new AT (that was a jump in price!), and then re-booked again with the correct and final order. Again, Lucid HQ (Emane) and the KOP studio (Alex) were great.
I'm looking forward to a great Lucid experience. So far, so good!

Thanks for sharing. I’ve been eyeing a pre-owned Air on Lucid’s website as well, but it doesn’t appear to offer a shipping option outside of California and Arizona. Did you have to make any special request to have it shipped to Pennsylvania?

You can enter your zip code in the online Used Car portal and it will show you available pickup locations. Then once you place the order if you need it shipped directly via covered carrier to your home (if you don’t wanna do in person pickup) the SA will help you set that up.

Changed it to a friend of mines Zip in Arkansas.

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve put in my zip code for options, and the closest provided delivery location is in Arizona (I’m in Denver). Sounds like I should simply speak to my SA.

Definitely reach out to an SA, as I understand it the deposits are refundable too. So if you need to make an order, leave a deposit and get with the sales team that way.

Best of luck! Hopefully you join the Lucid fam soon!

Shipping a car is pretty easy. I wouldn't let that hold up a purchase if you've got the car/deal you want.

Agreed. It was a simple process and the "concierge" assigned to me kept me updated throughout the process. And re: locations - the King of Prussia studio is > a mile from my office, so it was easy (and likewise for future servicing...).
