Gravity GT
Hey there, is there any factory tour/pickup/track day thing for Gravity? I have a GDE on order. I think it would be fun to pick up the car either at HQ or at the factory to get the full experience. Lots of German manufacturers offer something like this. I’d then love to roadtrip the car home. The website currently shows my pickup as being in Millbrae, CA.

I don’t even have a VIN yet, so thought I would ask those smarter in the ways of Lucid.

I’d reach out to your sales advisor. I’d doubt you’d get a factory tour with how busy they are, but that could happen. You never know until you ask.

Congrats on the amazing purchase! Make sure and keep us updated on the exciting pickup and delivery experience.

In the 70s, Porsche would let you come to Zuffenhausen and sit in the factory gallery for the last few days and watch your car being made and finished. How cool would that be??

I've done BMW European Delivery twice with my son. Incredible experience; we had the best time

I've requested taking delivery of our Gravity GT in Scottsdale AZ to start a road trip back to FL. As far as factory tour, they don't do them except if you have enough referral points

I was just thinking about this the other day - given the performance characteristics of these vehicles I'm surprised Lucid doesn't have a driving experience setup for owners. Maybe it's something for them to consider once those Gravity profits start rolling in.

"Everything is different now."

I think BMW, Audi, Porsche did factory delivery because that was the driving performance car culture then. Pride in the brand. I could be wrong, but I believe they did it because that was their mindset. I think those days are long gone and not what younger car buyers care about today. Now, the car is just a computerized fungible appliance.

I remember with Porsche and Audi, at factory delivery, you were treated like you were adopting aw one of their children. At Zuffenhausen, after car check out, the delivery tech took me to the factory parts department, introduced me BY NAME to the parts department manager, as a new owner of a 911. And that I had permission to purchase anything at wholesale. Even parts not authorized in the US.

"Everything is different now".

I don't think it's that different now. I can't imagine the majority of people who buy the M/AMG/RS line fit into that fungible appliance category. When I did my factory delivery with Audi 10 years ago it was a magnificent experience. There's still a customer for that.

There's still a customer
Maybe. But not enough to justify the cost. That's why Audi USA dropped the program in 2018. It would be cool but would it sell more Lucid cars?? Lucid lost $366M 1st quarter. Perhaps when it is profitable. And Casa Grande AZ ain't Zuffenhausen or Ingolstadt, Bavaria.....

BMW has delivery at the performance center. Includes tracking a similar vehicle when taking delivery. Corvette has museum delivery (next door to factory), plus track days are available at the museum track.
