Hello,

Before you go to the Gravity Test Drive, confirm your appointment by phone.

Last week, I received an invitation to make a Gravity Test drive.
I booked my appointment at West Palm Beach Studio, 160 miles from my home in Orlando.
I received the confirmation email below.
When I arrived, the Studio was surprised. They didn't know anything about it.
Worst: Zero Gravity to see!
350 miles trip for nothing......

Florida Test drives are scheduled for May 14th 15th and 16th.

It seems some technical issue ☹️

Yeah, that's weird as the tour hasn't made it over to Florida yet. Sorry you had to waste your time like that...

Lucid's communications can be very confusing.

I did not try to book a test drive when the reservations first opened up, as I got a call on April 20 asking me to confirm the order configurations for both of the Gravity Dreams we ordered and was told VINs would follow shortly. I assumed this meant we would get at least one Gravity fairly soon, as I am a current Lucid owner (which the Lucid website says will get delivery priority), and the first Gravity was ordered the day orders opened and was upgraded to a Dream the same day those orders opened.

However, we still have no VINs and, as people who ordered later and are not Lucid owners have been getting both VINs and tentative delivery dates, it's clear we won't be getting either Gravity any time soon.

So today I called to see if West Palm Beach still had any test drive slots open. They said no but said there is a link for getting on a waitlist, which they sent me. I chose a date and time slot that was clearly marked as being a slot only on the waitlist. Then I got this message:

Based on the English I learned in school, this looks to me like a confirmation of an actual test drive, not a confirmation that I have been put on the waitlist. I called the studio just be be sure and was told, "no, that's just confirmation that you were put on the wait list."

Huh?

At least I knew to call the studio to check, as I have seen more than one very confusing message from Lucid over the past four years.

And how is one to know that?
Join my FB group, we are good about sharing data.

Lucid email is clearly insufficient to be able to tell up from down, agree with you there.

Just checked the reservation link for West Palm Beach and it’s showing there are still spots available on Thursday 5/15 and Friday 5/16. Saturday 5/17 is all booked. Hopefully one of those times will work for you vs being waitlisted.

I’m confirmed this week in Dallas and did receive an email yesterday from a studio advisor reconfirming my GGT test drive.

I just left Palm Beach for my test drive. Took the train down from Orlando. Drive was great. Gravity on the showroom floor is my exact configuration (Aurora Green, Tahoe, Stealth, 22/23). Can’t wait for my delivery. Should be in about 3 weeks based on communication with my SA.

I got the "you're on the wait list" email April 23, added it to my calendar and never looked at it again since.

Lucid called me last week to ask if I'd like to upgrade to a DE or stick with the GT with, or without the HUD; I'm going with the HUD. Having heard about the guy that drove from Orlando to West Palm Beach based on the WRONG date in their email .. I then I asked to confirm my test drive appt for May 15th 10am. "Yes, you are confirmed for 10am" .. but they didn't mention I MIGHT NOT get to drive the Gravity if there are no time slots available. We got there at 9:30 and that's when they said there were not test drive slots available. I wasn't happy about that. We were on a tight schedule with plans to North Carolina at 1pm.

We did poke around the Gravity in the showroom, and by all account it met and exceeded our expectations. And, WRT driving, all the reviews speak for themselves. I'm sure there'll be another opportunity to do a test drive before this fall when the HUD is back in stock.

It was also confirmed that we could take delivery in Scottsdale AZ .. our launch point for a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Palm Springs, Vegas and visit friends and family on the way back to Florida.

How can you have a confirmed 10am test drive appt., but the possibility of no time slots available also exist?
Was the 10am time based on you continuing to be in "wait list" status?

Confirmation vs. wait list are contradictory to me.
Wait list means nothing is confirmed, to me.

Wait list means nothing is confirmed, to me.
Me: "I'd like to confirm I have a Gravity test drive at 10am on may 15th".
Them: :"Yes, we have you confirmed, see you at 10"

They could have said "confirmed on the wait list", I don't have a recording. I could have been so excited to hear the word "confirmed" .. but I know there was nothing about "you may have to wait all day and possibly not be able to drive the vehicle at all". I was thinking this phone call WAS my confirmation.

I'm still glad I went

Good.
It's not like you had a Gravity order and then they lost it.

You: I placed my order on Nov. 7.
Lucid: I'm sorry, we don't see you order in the system, but let me check with my supervisor to see if we can get you set up. The earliest delivery will probably be June of next year.
