New member here. So glad to have found this forum. What a great resource! We are taking delivery of a 2025 Air Touring in two days (very excited). One surprise, however. I just heard that Lucid no longer includes the mobile charging cable on delivery for 2025 models. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?
Thanks!

That's correct. Any J1172 mobile charging cable should work - from Grizzle-E, Tesla, Lucid, Lectron, etc.

Ask for one at delivery. They gave me one when I asked at my delivery three weeks ago. Your purchase comes with a $650 credit toward accessories, which happens to be the exact price of the mobile charger.

It’s not a guarantee of course, if they don’t have one in stock they can make it appear via magic. But worst case you have to order it and have it shipped to you later.

They had one in stock for me when I picked up my Air Touring two weekends ago. Unless you want to use the credit for something else, it makes sense to just use it for the mobile charging cable. Use it or lose it...

No longer... took delivery yesterday... no cables available, they gave away what they had. The cable isn't shipping until May 15... basically all they could do was say "I know, I have to have this conversation every day... you can use a public charger."

On top of that they charge $50 for expedited shipping.

Seems like a pretty big supply chain mistake.

Agreed and I made sure to include that in my delivery survey.. pretty ridiculous at this price point to not include the cable IMO.

I immediately asked if they expected the charging equipment to be included with my trade-in (swasticar), and when they said no I went right back outside and took it out. Needed an adapter for the Lucid but at least now I have the emergency equipment in the trunk.

Most EV manufacturers have stopped providing charging cables with the purchase price, perhaps because some customers don't have access to home charging and would never make use of them. I think Lucid's approach of giving a credit for the price of the cable makes sense, as someone who doesn't need the cable can use it for something else.

I agree that Lucid's process makes a lot of sense. I think the one caveat I would add is that they should try to keep them in stock so people can get their cable right at delivery. My impression was they try to do this, but it seems like the spike in demand during Q1 meant some folks had to take delivery without the cable.

I’d think about getting the LCHC versus the mobile charging cord. We’ve hardly ever used the mobile chargers and have had my car since early 2022. DC fast charging is the way to go on the go, and hasn’t effected my range and battery life negatively over 61k miles.

But if you plan on charging at home the LCHC is the way to go, super fast and reliable.

Yes. We have three of them now. One from the Leaf, the original Lucid mobile charger from 2022 and the one that is range xchange compatible. Don’t need any more.

That reminds me, I need to give away that OG non-RangeXChange mobile charging cord I have in the closet.
