Hi all! Super excited on being the second-owner of an Air Grand Touring and currently LOVING it.

I was curious if: anyone has had any experience with installing or had someone install Dynamat (or similar products) anywhere on their Lucid Air. I searched the forums but didn’t see anything in particular that was recent, so apologies if there’s another thread going!

For context: I DIY’d a decent chunk of Dynamat in my Model 3P, and it substantially improved the road noise coming from the doors. Not at all trying to make a comparison between M3P and AGT, but if I might be able to get a similar amount of noise reduction, I’m eager for the adventure.

I saw a video of someone disassembling the door panels on an AGT, and I noticed there wasn’t any insulation in there. I’m not sure if it’s just because they had already disassembled the door trim or if it’s just that Lucid didn’t include any since the doors are pretty sturdy to begin with. Either way, it made me want to get in there and apply some sound deadening :)

Any thoughts, insights, or other are appreciated!

lol so super late follow-up to the post but my adhd finally let me have the courage to tackle this. i got one door done this weekend and it was cool to see what the inside of the door looks like! looks like they do have one sheet of sound deadening for the exterior door metal panel which was cool to see. unfortunately did not get an after photo with all the dynamat i put on because i was struggling towards the end x)

Red metal primer? That's not Zenith Red, is it?

Thanks for posting! I did the same on a 2011 Leaf and the difference was quite noticeable.
It's good to know that the exterior door panel already has factory deadening.

agreed!! glad to see the effort. also the lining inside the door panel is pretty nice. some kind of a dense wool-like stuffing.
even with just one door, it feels quieter already - i could also be delusional since i want to believe all that time and effort resulted in something 😂

The placebo effect! 🤣

I personally wonder what would happen if you put dynamat near the wheel wells, as tire noise is one of the main sources of noise for EVs. I also believe this is further exemplified for the Lucid, as its more aerodynamic shape means it has less wind noise!

The trunk floor is also a typical place to add sound deadening material.

hopefully not just placebo effect haha - but the audio does sound better since it’s not bleeding out into the door panel

but yes!! wheel wells are on the to-do list!! I just need my friends to have a free weekend so I can use their lift 🤣 but I definitely think I’d see a lot of gains there so I’ll def let you know!

oh! yes!! i did this in my Model 3 and it really helped. also the trunk roof where sound transfers into the rear windshield area.

question is… taking apart the trunk area in the Lucid 🤣
