Is there any clarity on the cold weather package? @hmp10 has said there is no longer a cabin heat pump, but how was this confirmed? Does this mean resistive heating only? And what about a heated steering wheel, heated wipers, and so forth? The configurator no longer lists a cold weather package as an option, so either it’s standard or can’t be incorporated into the initial builds. I’m assuming that any car costing over $100K would have these as standard.

As for the power doors issue, it sounds like initial builds won’t have it but later builds will? So Dream owners are out of luck? This doesn’t seem quite right.

There has never been an interior heat pump. I talked to Peter Rawlinson at an event and he said that they are working on that and may have one within a year.

The cold weather package option was dropped on the website, because it is standard - at least for the dream edition.

The powered doors were having some kind of sensor issues and were abandoned. Peter Rawlinson mentioned that they may come back in later builds. and, yes, we dream reservation holders are out of luck on that.

If I remember correctly, a heat pump was listed as part of the cold weather package on the Lucid website. When I read in a car magazine that the heat pump had been abandoned, I went to look at the website, and the reference to it had been removed and the cold weather package had become standard on the Dream.

Zak Edson and reps at two of the Design Studios also said that the power-operated doors were not going to be on early production cars due to sensor issues. However, on one of my later visits to a studio, I was told Lucid was considering installing the motors from the outset so the feature could be made available with a later software update. This made me wonder whether they were hoping to enlist the side cameras as door position sensors once they could devote the software programming time to it.

They need sensors for door opening, but also pinch sensors for door closing. From what I gathered and looking at a door at the design studio, they don't seem to have pinch sensors, unless they can use the sensors from the soft close mechanism (which they will have). Someone here mentioned previously, it would be at least nice to have self closing doors, due to the fact that the doors open wide and someone has to lean over to close them. Suggested to Peter Rawlinson that they preinstall the hardware, but didn't get any reply.
