QUESTION Which sound system should I order?

I listened to the base system during a test drive in an Air Touring and it was OK. I was coming from an Audi A8 with Bose. I bought an Air GT with the Pro system and I love it! It is a much superior system. If you get it also subscribe to Tidal, which has Atmos music (the only service I think). My thinking is the cost will fade in your memory but the sound will remind you - you made the right (or wrong) decision EVERY DAY!

There is an old adage that says: "Don't buy a $5000 stereo when you have $500 ears". That's a long way of saying you kinda have to hear it yourself to decide. For an audiophile, I'm sure the enhanced system is worth every penny. However, for someone like me pushing 70 with marginal hearing I probably could barely tell the difference.

I bought a Gravity that somebody backed out of, and it came with the premium system. Both my wife and I notice a difference and love it.

I've always happily listened to compressed audio files. Years ago an audiophile friend offered to teach me what sounds wrong in music from an MP3 file. I thought about it and said "no thanks". Why train myself to be unhappy with a lot of the music I'll hear?

SSP for me as well. Incredible difference when you listen to well-made Dolby Atmos tracks on Tidal. That said, to the OP: You really should listen for yourself to see if it matters enough for you to justify the cost. Be sure, though, to use the native Tidal app and be sure the track playing shows the Dolby Atmos logo. Also important: certain tracks are simply much better than others, even from the same artist. It all depends on the audio engineer's care.

If Atmos-mastered music is important to you then it's a no-brainer. Like others have said, you'll need to compare them for yourself. I'd recommend loading up a USB stick with some of your favourite songs and asking your local studio to show you models with/without.

fwiw.. my 25 GT w/ the pro sound is in for service (new windshield that's taking over two weeks)... i have a loaner 25 Lucid Pure that has the standard sound system.. and it's horrible. really bad. Honestly sounds like an AM radio compared to my car. No matter what the equalizer is set to, a 90's boom box sounds better. It's absolutely day and night in comparison.

I wouldn't even consider not getting SSP. But as many have said here, it really depends on what you listen to and your particular ears.

If you have the chance, listen to both. That lets YOU determine the price:value relationship. For me? It was the easiest decision of all of the option choices when buying my Air GT. The SS Pro is (IMHO) a MASSIVE improvement and I love music, so…
