Lucid Air Touring 2025
I’m the owner of a brand new 2025 air touring. I haven’t had any issues but I’m wondering what sort of service options are available in case I need service. I live in Central New Jersey about 60 miles away from the closest service center which is, I believe, Short Hills NJ about 50 minutes away. Is it possible to use non-Lucid car repair shops to handle (some) issues? Are are we stuck with having to use the mobile Lucid service only? And exactly how does that work? Will they come to my house and drive the car to the service center and leave me a loaner if necessary? And do the mobile service vans originate from the Lucid service centers only or can they sometimes originate from locations more locally? I’m concerned about the amount of time I’d have to wait if I had a breakdown on the highway. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum. I am honestly rather surprised at you asking this question AFTER you already own the car. When spending the kind of money for a new Lucid Touring shouldn’t service after the sale be part of your buying decision process?

There are loads of thread on this Forum about how service works for Lucid. Short Hills is NOT a Service Center. Your nearest one is in King of Prussia PA.

After you’ve done some more research here (and perhaps by contacting your sales advisor who can explain it to you directly), come on back with any more specific questions you may have or feel free to PM me as I too am in central NJ.

Lucid service for our area is OUTSTANDING — fortunately for us (and you since you already own your car, LOl)…

Hopefully you are enjoying your Air!! I love mine.

I haven't needed Mobile Service in well over two years, and since then they have a Service Center in King of Prussia, PA, just a few minutes from me.
I understand they run the vans out of KoP even for close customers, unless the car needs a lift or something complicated. I had a faulty module that was diagnosed by a Mobile Service tech in my garage (using a laptop plugged into the port in the trunk, and communicating with the engineers in Newark). It took him a couple of days to figure it out, because the module was behind the glove box, which could not be opened with the pilot screen dead. It was eventually trucked to VA because there was no facility in KoP at that time.

I highly recommend Mobile Service. I tried to stay out of the way of the tech, who was excellent, but what he was doing was too interesting, and he took the car apart right in front of me. The service van is to die for = has everything but a lift. Even has tire-mounting and balancing machines! You should be so lucky to have Lucid Mobile Service show up at your door.

Hey - congrats on your new Touring. I am in CNJ as well.
Hopefully, in few months East Rutherford SC may open and we can take the cars for the servicing. However, as of now, we have to rely only on Mobile Service and KOP SC.

Having said that, I had multiple visits by Mobile Service (even my 1st year service) was done by Mobile Service without any issues. However, I will be going in KOP for my 2nd year servicing in KOP and requested the loaner for them as I have them to address few minor things...

Wasn’t aware of an East Rutherford SC. Has it been under construction for awhile? Any estimate for when it will open? Is it also going to be a studio?

It's fun to visit the KoP Service Center, even though there's really no place / nothing to see for the customers. It's a Service Center, not a sales venue. There were over 100 Lucids there last time I went, with truckloads arriving for pre-delivery prep. You can see every option, color, and version, except the Dream Edition. There is an Eureka Gold Dream Edition locally that I have seen there and at the EA chargers on the other side of the mall. They won't let you sneak into the service area, which is vast...unless you are taking delivery...and even then it's unlikely they will show you the 50 or so cars behind the wall. They have a bank of level II chargers but not for visitors = there is a bank of 350 EA chargers on the opposite side of the mall. If you need to kill time when there, duck into the mall and check out the Tesla and Porsche showrooms. Pathetic cars. There are some nice restaurants, and if you need a $50,000 watch or a Versace handbag they have a half-dozen places to buy one.

KoP service under construction circa 2022. This space was entirely full of Lucids last time I was there, and 100 more parked outside. It represents only half of the center - the service bays are on the other side of the right wall.
