Selling a Tesla for a Lucid

Lucid better get busy scaling:)

I did some estimate cumulative Model S sales estimates, from 2012-2019, just being conservative and assuming the owners will need a newer car, and there have been about 214,618 Model S cumulative sold in total from that period. The original owners will be much more interested in a Pure since it hits what the original ethos (no coincidence based on the Chief Engineering) of EV efficiency, sustainability and space. I am taking the period before the cars became about computers, AI and other fluff like fart noises.

Even though the above case was a Model Y, but in 2022 pandemic peak it basically cost as much as a RWD Pure as well.

A "Tesla conquest" financing deal might make sense for Lucid. Apparently it has worked well for Polestar recently.

Noticed this in the margins today - where it shows a snapshot of which members are active on the Lucid Owners forum - Total: 233 (members: 34, guests: 199)

Curious if any of the moderators track traffic on this site . . . and if the ratio of guests to members can ultimately be an indicator of future sales growth. I.e., if daily averages have guests at 3:1 vs. members - following monthly Lucid sales/leases are X . . . if daily averages are 6:1 (as in the example I pasted above), following monthly leases are Y ? I only bring this up, because I was surprised at the number (and ratio) of guests to members being so high ? ?

Oh and btw, I'm convinced Mark Kelly is planning a Lucid (or less likely, a Rivian) purchase - I saw a headline /quote that he is selling his Tesla and planning a "significant upgrade" for his next vehicle. Certainly sounds like a Lucid to me . . . and makes most sense supporting manufacturing in his home state !

I’m so happy that I sold my Model S two years ago and got a Lucid.

Was never going to purchase a Rivian or Lucid. He purchased a gas guzzler and made a shout out to the UAW so we can see where his bread is buttered. For someone all about being “green” he still could’ve purchased a EV from GM or Ford.

Yup, a phony through & through.

Whenever there are disruptions, people react and there will be short term consequences. Over time, people will get used to this. Or, something else will come up and they will all go behind that. At least in the short term, I hope this will be useful for other EV brands to catch attention, and let them use the opportunity to increase sales. Apart from damage to the brand, Tesla has got some serious issues with their lineup. They are mass producing EVs, and they need to bring in their low cost EV, and probably bring more varieties of vehicles - a minivan, or proper three row suv etc. Still, unless someone is leasing, I still don't see any good EV other than Tesla and few others (Lucid, Rivian, and Polestar may be). Those EV-only brands have a proper streamlined software that is capable of OTA updates over time. And, a motivation to continue that support for many years. Other brands are still in their infancy and there is no guarantee or motivation that I see from them in offering any type of feature updates or support after few years. The likelihood of them becoming obsolete is quite high. Even with all the shortcomings due to politics, I still believe Tesla is the best choice for a starter EV unless one is leasing.

Am sure glad I sold my Model S for C$50k 3ybago before Elon went crazy and put it toward my Lucid Air GT which is by far the better vehicle in every way possible
Is this post not political?
