Well, the Internet of Things has been a major concern in all industries, so this is not totally unexpected.
On the other hand, if we stick with EA, we probably wouldn't have to worry much because these chargers usually are out of service, and when they're on line, even EA couldn't activate them., let alone the hackers.

Tonight I used ChargePoint for the first time. I didn’t tap my phone or credit card onto the charger to pay; instead I downloaded ChargePoint app and link my ApplePay in its payment info. Then ChargePoint app make extra Apple Wallet Card to tap to pay. I think that’s extra layer of encapsulated security.
