Rivian cutting out their sound system for in-house dev

Saw this earlier and thought it was interesting.
Tesla did this with their sound and I think it's pretty horrible. It sounds like it's always coming from the windshield of the car despite audio being centered.

Now Rivian is cutting costs here too.

I'm thankful Lucid went with Sony and actually cared about audio. But I do wonder about the cost. Hope Lucid doesn't backtrack, but seeing how expensive Surreal Sound is, that's why it's a package and not bundled in somehow maybe as Tesla does it.
 
I can see why Rivian is doing that, they have a long way to go to cut tremendous cost down. Aside twice corporate lay off, they are also starting to build the motors in-house now too. They are also having extra 180 watt cigarette plug and 1500 watts electric outlets being deleted. I’m glad I got the Launch Edition of before things getting deleted left and right. I think Rivian is recreational luxury, different style of luxury than Lucid where I think Lucid is classic elegance.
