Wow, achieving 4.06 miles per kWh on a highway trip with the 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring is truly impressive! Alex on Auto's review provides valuable insights into the efficiency of electric vehicles. It's fascinating to see the data from his 243.3-mile journey, especially hitting 3.60 miles per kWh overall. I wonder how different driving conditions and speeds affect these numbers. Have you noticed any variations in efficiency based on your experiences in the Bay Area, CA?
 
I am 9,900 miles and nearly 12 full months into my ownership of a ‘25 AGT. I have averaged 4.19 mi/kWh and would be happy to take a photo tomorrow of the console if you all want “proof.” These cars are frickin’ amazing and the range is exceptional. Yes, you can drive them like race cars too…and then you won’t get 4.19, but the point is that the option is very much there.

I’ve also averaged in the 4.1 - 4.2 range on nearly all highway trips of 300-400 miles round trip between 70 and 75 mph. 4.19 is my AVERAGE. I’ve had trips where I am at 4.6 or better (and those where I am at 3.5).

This forum, like all these days, can be an echo chamber of gripes, frustrations and negativity. IMHO there is no better sedan available right now…or even one that comes close.

Look at the slant of the question in the start of this thread “is this even possible?” The inherent bias is so overtly negative. I find that profoundly frustrating.

I went the other direction and have also been happy with a pre-owned 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring. I also purchased a year ago with under 10K miles and I've added 15K miles to it. During the summer months, I was around 3-3.5 mi/kWh and will expect to be down to 2.5-3 mi/kWh at the speed of traffic on the highway (i.e. closer to 80 than 65). It's perfect for an often driven 320 mile stretch ... I feel I could slow down and "make it" even in winter, but I usually prefer to make a quick stop in the 5 hour journey where my charge also gives me driving around miles until I charge again overnight. In short, there have been improvements in the 2025+ models but the older models still drive beautifully and also have great range that matters.

And used earlier models represent perhaps the best value proposition currently available in the automotive space…EV or ICE. No, they do not compare to the reliability or range of the 2025 and later Airs, BUT they are so tremendously under-priced via-a-vis their feature set and stunning driving dynamics that they make a compelling case for all but those who expect absolute perfection in fit, finish, reliability and software functionality. Oh, right, that doesn’t exist in ANY car (or human endeavor)!!!
 
I have 21s in the summer, 19s in winter. I can't get anywhere near that at any time of the year. The car has averaged 3 miles/kwh in its life (22 Air GT). I mean..it's still fine overall, but it's been a pretty big disappointment as I did tons of research and have had EVs before but I'm truly disappointed that i'm getting near the bottom of any range i've seen other people have, while I've usually stayed near the top of expected range on my other EVs
 
I had a ‘22 AGT loaner with 19” wheels for two weeks earlier this year and found the range on that vastly inferior to my car…more on the order of 3.3 - 3.5 miles/kWh.
 
Of course it’s possible. The range of any EV is going to vary based on driving conditions and driving style. Too many owners see something nefarious in the EPA numbers as they have an unreasonable expectation that they are some sort of explicit promise applicable in all circumstances. The range and battery replenishment of the Lucid is the best combination on the market. And for most drivers using the full range of the battery in a single drive likely only happens a few times a year if at all.

Not at all. That is EASY for me to achieve in my '25 AGT. I am averaging 4.20 over 10,000+ miles and routinely have trips of over 100 miles where I am well north of 4.5...

2024 Lucid Air Pure (I know not a GT but FYI) with 19" tires, 88 kWh battery with 15K+ miles Total is 4.04 miles per kWh. All sorts of driving and charged to 100%: city (320 miles), 100 feet (elevation) to 8K feet (200 miles up the hill (to do 100 miles(ish)), 30 miles down the hill), flat stuff doing < 75 mph (best numbers here, I've seen 370/380 miles). At this point car only charges to 393 miles for 100% (roughly .88 miles lost each month on battery). You will always take some hit on mileage I would say a good average is high 20's low 30's miles at least with this car. Be curious to know what 19" wheels produce on a Touring or Grand Touring. If all goes according to plan I want to lease a Touring in July/Aug of 2027.

  • Going through the statistic I can see that the model year 2022-2024 AGT are difficult to hit there numbers are highway. However they are probably one of the best bargain at 50-57k used as being some of the best value for purchased in the industry.

  • The heat pump, newer & bigger battery chemistry for AGT 2025+, and now 2026 ac compressor for the 2026 model year really do help the Lucid Air hit the real world numbers consistently as in the votes and supports the 4.06 miles per kWH seen by Alex on Autos in the video.

My personal best on my G.T.P. was 3.63 on a 40 mile trip of mid city and highway on software 2.8.9.

The software 2.8.16 has dramatically lowered this recently for me averaging in the 2.8X.

I am hoping 2.8.17 reverses the 2.8.16 miles per kWh regression from 2.8.9. I am hoping to show you guys a photo of 446miles /118 kWH = 3.77 miles per kwh result one of these days. I hoping to catch up to @Blue Lectroid results one day lol.

I agree. 4.2-4.5 on highway trips at 72-74 mph flat terrain in summer. It takes moderation and intent. Easy to achieve if you want to and have situational awareness.

The OP's question was on 21" wheels. Very big difference. My leased AT on 19s averaged around 4.1 mi/kWh for the 18,000 miles I put on it. My current AT with 21s is averaging ~3.3 mi/kWh. I had fun with the leased car. I've driven like a grandma in the current one.

Yes! You got exactly what I was trying to get at @j4gates !

I baby the throttle pedal on acceleration and gently lift off for maximum regenerative charge on my AGT.P and cannot achieve the 4.06 even on the exact same wheels and in the similar area.

The Pure Loaner with 19 inch wheels I got while my vehicle is in the service center for a Drive System Error can easily achieve the 5.0 Miles per kWh see below assuming I am driving it like a grandma (Please see picture reference below taken last Friday). Trip A and B is an average I have been raising with my personal record vs other Vehicle Loaner drivers. See further below for the original readings on inception.)
