When I spoke with the tech leads at Millbrae they did confirm the lower right corner was left “clear” to accommodate toll readers. However they said to try the center anyway because they think it may be okay for radar detectors. I will try both locations when I get my car. Plenty of fixed speed signs emitting K band so I should be able to see if there is a distance difference between the two locations.

Here in Virginia, we use toll transponders that have a switch that allow your to bypass tolls when you have 2+ passengers in the car. If the transponder is that far away, it would be tough to toggle the switch.

So leave it set to one person and then if you have a passenger they can easily switch it to two persons from their passenger seat.

Not on the CAV toll tag, which is the only one that gets you 50% off in express lanes.
You should get the CAV toll tag.

Expires 9/30/2025. You’ll need to apply to the DMV for the decals either way, so you can’t get it until your car arrives.
Send this form: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/file/application-for-clean-air-vehicle-decal-reg-1000-pdf/ and $22 to the DMV by mail (cannot do it at DMV office or AAA)
Then once you get your decals and CAV certificate (just a couple weeks) you can apply for the CAV fastrak here: https://www.bayareafastrak.org/en/routers/cav_existing_user.html and will need to upload your certificate.

Having problems with getting a radar detector installed. Went to a top line place. This is there response: Would appreciate if any other people on this forum had a radar detector installed, how they did it and is it effective. Thanks.
Hi Jerry, good to hear from you — apologies for the delay.
We wanted to hold off on the radar due to some information that was given to me from a trusted source, the technical director for Escort Radar. He had mentioned a few dealers having issues with radar false alerts on the Lucid platforms do to radar/lidar based sensors on the vehicle. I wanted to get a solid confirmation on this to determine what our opportunities and potential issues could be. I'll circle back around with him today on that and if he gives us the all clear we will circle back around to schedule.

Below is his 2nd response to me later today.
Jerry, I had a brief chat with our trusted friend and he's still not recommending an installed radar for the Lucid Air at this time. His concerns included some failures in the car due the the added electronics on the 12v system and a battle with the service shop at LUCID regarding the associated warranty. Doesn't sound like something we want to get involved with until there's a more solid answer from reliable resources.

Has anyone installed an Escort radar with ZW5 laser shifters? If so, any issues with installation and is location still an issue? My current vehicle has them and I plan to do the same with my GT, just need to find an expert installer in CA.
