Lucid owner from MD - AT

I just got my new-to-me 2024 Lucid Air Touring in MD with 7k miles. It's fully loaded with glass canopy, ddp, ssp, and comfort and convenience package. I replaced all my Teslas now.

The process from order to delivery was a bit less than stellar, but delivery was great. They did the full unveiling and were very pleasant.

The car is phenomenal. It drives so well around corners that i was just surprised that something this heavy can just feel like a 3 series. The steering is precise and the acceleration is both calm and explosive. I really like how they tuned the accelerator pedal to be very ready to modulate whole driving calmly and spirited. I can't say enough about how much better this drives than a Tesla. I've driven the S,X,Y,3, and the Cybertruck, and they just don't compare.

I was already planning on getting the cccv2 as soon as possible, but after getting the car, i didn't notice any sluggishness. The screen switches instantly for the lower screen screen and apps load in a second after waking up for the first time. The map is not any more laggy than my Ioniq 9.; loads fast and scrolls with little lag when zooming out to load of a second or less. How can i tell of the car has cccv1 or cccv2? I was expecting it to be slow, but it was pretty fast. It was about as responsive as a tesla.

Also, it came with 20" pilot sport ev summer tires. How bad are those in the East coast winters? Should i get the winter 19s package even if i don't drive in the snow?

I haven't noticed any bugs except the steering wheel seems to click around the airbag when turning. I assume this is the loose airbag issue?

Congrats - what color? Pics? I picked up ‘23 touring in MD almost 3 years/37k miles ago - sounds like same build - still look forward to every drive! I had the same wheels as you up until about 6k miles ago and had no problems with mild winters/little snow driving (memphis winters are not quite as bad as yours but if ur staying outta the snow, I wouldn’t think you’d need them)

I havent taken any pictures yet, but it's cosmos silver with Mojave leather. Its flawless inside and out.

Its below 45F here (close to 20F at night) so it seems low for summer tires. It seemed to drive fine on the way back and i did have a little fun with it. I looked up the tires and got a bit worried about letting my wife take it in the winter. She wants to drive it instead of her new SUV. Sadly, we were looking at 3 row electric SUVs a month ago and the Gravity was too long of a wait. She didn't like the Rivian looks. Looking at the Gravity in person and knowing how well the Air drives makes me regret not getting it. Maybe in a few years...

Welcome. IMO, Cosmos Silver and Fathom Blue with Mojave leather in stealth are the best color combos. Quantum Grey with Tahoe leather also looks excellent. I am in Southern Cal but have taken the car to the mountains with summer tires in cold weather. I know it is not recommended but I did not have any issues, (albeit I had snow socks ready to use).

Great to hear such a detailed real world impression. The comparison to a 3 series in cornering is pretty impressive and says a lot about the chassis tuning. On the CCC question, responsiveness alone can be misleading, so it is probably worth checking the hardware version directly. Regarding the tires, summer compounds tend to lose grip in lower temperatures, so even if you are not driving in snow, having a separate winter setup would improve safety and confidence.
