Looks like they haven’t started and still hiring….doesn't look good at all. No wonder stock is crashing again…..

Two possible issues. Lack of available workforce living in Casa Grande or willing to drive from Phoenix and then time train workers with probably no auto assembly or other manufacturing experience.

Considering the problems they're still having with the vehicles they're delivering, maybe they're actually recognizing that it's not a good idea to ramp up manufacturing yet more until they've ironed out a number of problems. Both software and hardware.
 
All said, whatever the reason, management plays a big role in my opinion. They did it once with the Air, and now again with the Gravity. Delay, delay, delay……software still has issues despite massive improvements.

This is where Musk like “ demon mode “ comes into play. You need a CEO who is hardcore to get things moving when everything is against you. Blaming “ market conditions” in perpetuity is not acceptable.

I'm unconvinced that Musk's "demon mode" approach allowed Tesla to address quality problems any faster than a less obnoxious approach would have. Tesla took a remarkably long time to address many of their flaws, and many still remain. In my experience managing complex projects, a methodical focused approach works better than Musk's chaotic approach.

Maybe. Maybe not. I personally think Tesla sold so many cars because they were the first to really take seriously manufacturing EVs, and not because they knew how to produce them at a high level of quality. It's an unanswerable question, I suppose.
 
I don’t think there was a lot of quality control. Like when he put up the tent to get the model 3 out the door, I don’t think he cared about anything other than getting cars built to be sold. He’s obviously a wrecking ball knocking over anything that wants to slow him down. Clearly that got a lot of cars built, but not built well.

Looks like they started the second shift. Will be interesting to see how much they can increase production in Q4.
