Is Gravity SW so bad because we're already deprecated for Nuro?

Posted elsewhere, but Lucid is doing a ton of press around the Nuro partnership for CES, with lots of photos and videos: https://ir.lucidmotors.com/news-rel...-and-uber-unveil-global-robotaxi-ces-announce

Some (most?) of this is surely renders, but throughout the video both the pilot and 2nd row panels show an evolution of the current Lucid UX that covers everything from climate, to music, nav to visualization. Lucid seems much more "all-in" on this robotaxi partnership than on building vehicles for drivers.

As we all keep saying, the car drives and charges great and is a pleasure to ride in, but the software has been a huge mess since June with no new functionality delivered against the backlog. We've gotten fixes, which I appreciate, but it's not what was advertised.

Could it be that the Lucid 3.x software branch is already dead and in legacy support mode, and the only focus for the company is the Nuro UX stack for leased-robotaxis? As a Gravity driver, I don't have any interest in the company's focus making Uber more money, but that seems to be the sole focus now.

(And to be a bit lighter -- does Nuro depend on HERE maps too? 😂 )

Good question but hard to say just from the renderings they posted. There are UX3 renderings on Lucid's site of features that either don't exist yet or may never come to life.
I'm gonna start selling merch with the slogan "Don't trust the renderings" 🤣

It's Nuro's software and development, look and feel of it will be all on Nuro, similar to how the Waymo's work. The Lucid partnership with Nuro is really nothing more than them providing the car. This is a commercial deal and will have little benefit to us on the consumer side. Clearly nothing is in the deal to get access to Nuro's software on the consumer side because Lucid did the deal with Nvidia on that front.

If they're able to use the existing pilot and 2nd row displays, it's more than just providing the car. They're providing them full access to the IVI computer and interfaces, or doing all that work themselves, either way to the detriment of working on features for people who want to actually own and drive rather than pay-per-use.

Nuro said it took them a month to have the car running its software on Gravity. Don't blame Nuro for the poor quality software we've got in the Gravity, that's all on Lucid management, hence the org changes recently.
