This issue I'm facing may be specific to 2025 Air Touring models w/ glass canopy. Hoping to confirm that it's not specific issue to my car only and what others are doing to remedy the issue.
Few things I noticed that I believe are related:
1. EZ pass transponder was not registering at the gates being mounted under the rear view mirror
2. Carply navigation is very unstable and noticed that GPS signal (per gsp signal measurement app) is very weak inside the car especially by the center console.
3. Android phone (Pixel 9 Pro) Google maps not registering GPS consistently inside the car
I figured something was interfering inside the car and then saw threads about the glass roof having metal in it that interferes with ez pass transponder (and I suspect the GPS on my mobile phones). I also read this was an issue with older models and it was resolved with newer models where transponder can be mounted anywhere on the front windshield, but apparently it's back at least on the 2025 Touring with glass roof assembled in Arizona facility.
My concern is this. With the current built-in navigation not being very mature (leads me astray many times), I was really looking forward to Android Auto coming out and being able to primarily using Google maps on my Android phone. Now that I have verified that both Google pixel and Iphones I have are having hard time getting stable GPS signal (unless I out them near the side windows) due to (theoretically) metal coating in my glass windshield/roof, I'm wondering if someone else with same set up can confirm the issue and any possible remedy (short of holding the phone near the side windows). Thank you.
