This issue I'm facing may be specific to 2025 Air Touring models w/ glass canopy. Hoping to confirm that it's not specific issue to my car only and what others are doing to remedy the issue.

Few things I noticed that I believe are related:
1. EZ pass transponder was not registering at the gates being mounted under the rear view mirror
2. Carply navigation is very unstable and noticed that GPS signal (per gsp signal measurement app) is very weak inside the car especially by the center console.
3. Android phone (Pixel 9 Pro) Google maps not registering GPS consistently inside the car

I figured something was interfering inside the car and then saw threads about the glass roof having metal in it that interferes with ez pass transponder (and I suspect the GPS on my mobile phones). I also read this was an issue with older models and it was resolved with newer models where transponder can be mounted anywhere on the front windshield, but apparently it's back at least on the 2025 Touring with glass roof assembled in Arizona facility.

My concern is this. With the current built-in navigation not being very mature (leads me astray many times), I was really looking forward to Android Auto coming out and being able to primarily using Google maps on my Android phone. Now that I have verified that both Google pixel and Iphones I have are having hard time getting stable GPS signal (unless I out them near the side windows) due to (theoretically) metal coating in my glass windshield/roof, I'm wondering if someone else with same set up can confirm the issue and any possible remedy (short of holding the phone near the side windows). Thank you.

I just picked up my 2025 touring last week from dc and came back to ny. I had the same issue the ezpass doesn’t read from the glass canopy. I just decided to call ezpass and ordered a transponder that attaches on your front plate.

my ezpass is mounted under the mirror as is an RFID tag to open a gate at my home, I have no phone or carplay issues. you should contact service

NJ based EZ pass driver here with 2025 Lucid Touring. There is a spot to the right of the mirror that is for your EZ-Pass. it's hard to see, but once you see the spot, it's hard to unsee. If you place the EZ Pass there, it'll start reading. I had the same issue.

Pixel 8 Pro - I also noticed the issue with my phone GPS not maintaining a proper signal. Huge delay in updates and in orientation. Not sure what the solution is at this point other than using built in nav. Patiently waiting for Android Auto which is now 2 weeks passed what I was told when I picked up the car.

Thanks for the feedback. I resolved the ez pass issue by mounting in the spot labeled above. However, my concerns is everything else. No GPS signal and garage door remote doesn't work either through the windshield. It's like I'm driving a faraday box. Sounds like this isn't normal for others with same set up?

Thank you Macbain for showing this! I won’t have to put the ugly front plate transponder on.

I have the wandering GPS on my CarPlay sometimes, but I also experience that sometimes in our Subaru - usually it’s when my iPhone is still in my pocket. Once I pull it out and stick in a cup holder or something, GPS gets back on track.
Also, I have my “GoodToGo” sticker (WA’s version of EZ Pass) installed just below the rear view mirror assembly, and I’ve never had a problem with it working.

Same issue with my '25 AGT. The EzTag would only work on the right side of the mirror housing close to the area you identified above. GPS on the phone still works, but AI boxes over carplay cannot get a GPS signal. Frustrating, but appears to be the glass canopy. I also have front ceramic tint, and tint across the entire canopy which may be contributing to my issues; however, the problem was there before the tint work was done so I know it's specific to the glass in the 2025 models. My phone is mounted on the drivers side closest to the drivers door and I don't have any issues with GPS on the phone. My Uniden mirror mounted radar detector frequently has issues with GPS, but will eventually lock.

I may have to resort to mounting my phone near the driver side window also. How did you mount?

I ran a USB-c wire behind the trim and used a magsafe charger. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQPHLQYH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1). Be careful if you remove the trim. The clips have to be removed by moving the panel to the right and then pulling with trim tools otherwise you will break the clips. I ran the usb wire behind the USB charger in the center console and then via the trim panels to the drivers side. It connects via a vent mount. I may still clean up the wire so it's more hidden, but this works for now as you can't see it with the phone in place.
