Once again, the Gravity's chances to win a significant automotive award took a nosedive because of a plethora of mostly software problems. While InsideEVs liked the potential of the car, they found it to be not yet fully baked and plagued by the issues so many of us have reported here on the forum:

Yet it wins Car and Driver’s 10Best. Makes you wonder.

Kyle Conner discussed this in a review he did of a pre-production Gravity about a year ago. He said the reason the Air won so many car awards despite its software issues was that the organizations behind those are largely focused on driving dynamics and other characteristics of cars as transport devices and rather behind the curve on UI software's growing role in car operation and ownership.

I suspect that what we're beginning to see is the world of auto journalism -- at least some of its outlets -- beginning to catch up on the growing role of UI software in the overall ownership experience. I have seen very few reviewers take any real slams at the Gravity as a driving machine. Even those who pass on giving the Gravity any award recognition are often at pains to report how well it drives and takes cargo and passengers, often going into hyperbole such as "handling from another planet", etc.
