Hey Forum. First post here!

San Diego area resident. Bought my Touring over new years so it's been about a 2 month journey so far. This is my 2nd EV experience with the other being a Kia EV6. I wanted something with a longer range which brought me to the Lucid family.

First few days were a little rocky as my vehicle came with the hood misaligned so the first time I opened the hood it caught the plastic logo bar and snapped the hooks that kept it in place. Car immediately had to go in for service and get the hood aligned properly and replace the damaged part.

Aside from that early negative experience the driving performance of the car has been fantastic and what has kept me happy for the most part.

There are a lot of things I would improve/change about the vehicle performance but ultimately I wanted a car I'd love driving so this is definitely the big win here.

Changes and improvements I'm hoping to see (currently on software 2.6.2):

Key fob performance: key fob is laggy, slow, and has poor range. If I don't have to press buttons multiple times before the vehicle responds it's atypical for sure.

Charging the vehicle with the app: overall once Charging is initiated things are great. However, the entire vehicle asleep/awake duality is rather annoying. Most other EVs start Charging when power is being delivered...NOT THIS ONE. If power is being sent the car should charge, the vehicle shouldn't have to be awakened etc. Scheduled Charging doesn't wake the vehicle up and you can't schedule the vehicle to wake up at a set time through the app, so you have to manually wake the vehicle up when you want to ensure a charge. I'm using the 3rd party scheduled app launcher method which gets the job done but is frankly a bit ridiculous.

User interface/RADIO: 1st, the radio volume is the lowest I've ever seen on any vehicle. Even at MAX VOLUME the speakers aren't very loud at all. It's a disappointment for sure if you like loud music. 2nd, there's no satellite radio, only streaming. I'm in my 3 month free trial period and the satellite radio is totally hit or miss. Several times already I've had it stuck on signal searching or no sat radio at all just dead. I do not drive or live in rural areas so this is unfortunate. I would not buy a satellite radio subscription with this car for that reason. 3rd, Bluetooth calling is spotty too. Sometimes the calls work fine, other times audio cuts off after a few seconds and I can't hear the other party even though they can hear me. Some people report poor audio quality from my end even though I can hear them clearly. I'm not sure yet if this is a car issue mainly or a cell issue. I've heard the reset method proposed as well as re-pairing my phone etc. So we will see if this issue persists.

Any thoughts or insights on my user experience so far is welcomed. Pleasure to meet everyone here! Thanks!!

I take it you're using a charging schedule on your EVSE? Don't use that if you can avoid it. Set up a charging schedule in the car, from the charging screen on the pilot panel. This should wake up the car and start charging at the time you tell it.

This makes me think you have a problem. Since the audio changes in 2.5.0 I haven't turned up the volume past 50%, 50% is uncomfortably loud with everything I've tried listening to. Is it the same if you use a source other than radio or sirius, e.g. Tidal or Bluetooth audio from your phone?

He might not have been outfitted with the updated Audio module. I would take it into Lucid service. After the updated volume upgrade full speaker volume is dangerously loud.

Yes, using a set schedule on my EVSE in order to benefit from time of use charging. I also have another EV (kia ev6) which will charge anytime power is sent so I assume if the schedule is off on the unit then it will always send power when plugged in. This would be fine if I only had the AIR but having another EV which doesn't have an internal schedule with sleep/awake mode makes this problematic.

Regarding the max volume yes it's the same experience whether I'm using satellite radio or phone streaming. It's actually even a little worse on phone streaming I have to have the volume around 90%+ of maximum just for normal listening. My vehicle went in for service a couple weeks ago but I wasn't aware of any of this so I'm guessing it wasn't even examined.

What am I supposed to tell the service center exactly?

Thank you for the help!

You can set a charge schedule your EV6, and also on your Air, and turn off the schedule on your EVSE. This is currently the only way for the Air to take advantage of time-of-use rates, short of using a home automation setup to wake the Air at the right time, or periodically wake it if plugged in.

It's a problem for me too, and odd, but I've figured out a way to work around it.

If I wanted to have a different charging schedule on different days (both start and end times) wouldn't this still be a problem?

Yes. Some EVs allow you to schedule different charging windows on different days; the Air does not.

Ask service to ensure the front speaker TSC and TSB have been applied, and to double check that the flag for your vehicle is set to say that the TSC has been applied as well. Also, make sure you’re on 2.6.0.

If all of that is the case, you may need your hearing checked; I say this without derision or sarcasm. The system is *loud* after 2.6.0.

Its ear splitting past about 10% volume or 3-4 clicks above mute….

It's definitely not my hearing as I always wear hearing protection during high volume situations and have totally normal hearing. Has to be the sound system in the vehicle. This is the only car I have the volume near maximum constantly just during normal listening.

But it sounds good! With 2.5.0, it was just loud, but not smooth, and I couldn't turn it up very high. With 2.6.0, if I'm alone in the car, I think I often have it running at volumes that are probably not good for my ears.
