I’m interested in adding a small 10 inch subwoofer and draw signal from rear speakers (locations?) and place sub in the trunk lower sunken space, draw power from battery. That’s it. No plans to mess with anything else.

Is this a foolish undertaking? Anyone with direct experience please 🙏 any pro tips and tricks greatly appreciated.

It's a pretty simple endeavor. You can tap the power from the 12v batteries in the trunk, and you can pull a signal from the center woofer in the rear deck (with SS Pro, not sure about regular SS). You have to pop the bottom trim panel off the back deck, not the top- do a quick search, several here have done this and reported the results were great.

There are several 10" boxes that fit perfectly in the lower trunk area.

I added a 10" Kicker HS10. If you search, there's also existing threads here discussing adding subs with pictures and notes on how they are wired.
