Last week, I took delivery of my Gravity GT with 20/21” wheels, 5 seater, with all the options except the upgraded sound system. I drove from Denver to Telluride, Colorado, 363 miles through Vail Pass on a day with the temperature in the low 40’s, though colder in the mountain passes. This is my first EV, so I wasn’t sure what the range would be like on a moderately cold day in the mountains. I turned the climate controls off and used the heated seats and steering wheel. I was pleasantly surprised that I got 3.4 miles / kw. I stopped in Montrose at a Tesla V3 charging station with 12% SOC. The charger ramped up to 220 kw very quickly and held that level to about 55% SOC. Twenty minutes later I had added 300 miles of range and finished my trip home. This was a good trip to get to know the ins and the outs of the car. Here are some of my first impressions. I didn’t experience a lot of software issues. Only one headlamp error that eventually went away. For reference our other car is a 2025 BMW X5 e50 hybrid
The Good
The Good
- Performance is great
- Handling is very good
- Charging speed is great.
- Lighting for night driving is very good and the auto dimming works well.
- Turning Radius is great with the Dynamic Handling Package
- Self-driving technology needs significant improvement. BMW’s self-driving is much better, but there are other manufacturers that are better. I regret getting the Dream Drive Pro since I believe it will take a long time to fix this.
- Heads-up Display – Not what I was expecting. Very, very basic. You can adjust the HUD position a little, but it is still too high on the windshield. There should be different options for information you can display, maybe four or five different options
- All the driver alerts are annoying. Fortunately, they can be turned off.
- I noticed some build quality issues on some panels. Rear window washer isn’t working
