Video from OutOfSpecReviews: Lucid Gravity Extreme Winter Testing. Wish I was close to snow!
Wish I was close to snow!
The only consistent and unexpected issue I’ve had with our Gravity in the snow is the windows freezing and, due to having to move down to open the door, not being able to get in the car.Video from OutOfSpecReviews: Lucid Gravity Extreme Winter Testing. Wish I was close to snow!
Are you saying the gravity has to open the window to open the door, or am I misreading that? The only consistent and unexpected issue I’ve had with our Gravity in the snow is the windows freezing and, due to having to move down to open the door, not being able to get in the car.
It has never been an issue with our 2016 X, so I can’t understand how Lucid didn’t address it in all this crazy arctic testing.
Due to frameless glass, window retracts a quarter inch or so to clear the upper part of the door frame. Are you saying the gravity has to open the window to open the door, or am I misreading that?
Thanks for the explanation.Due to frameless glass, window retracts a quarter inch or so to clear the upper part of the door frame.
My solution was to push the upper part of the window in a bit as I pulled the door out, but there are also some great ideas of spritzing some de-icer on the rubber before opening the door. Only happened to me after a freezing rain and only once.
Get in line! Thanks for the explanation.
That seems problematic, but I'm just an old man yelling at the clouds
It only seems to be an issue with our Gravity. Our X (we had two) have the same frameless design for front seat windows and have never had an issue. If you pre heat for a long time, it helps, but not always. Thanks for the explanation.

Did the X require the window to lower for the door to open?It only seems to be an issue with our Gravity. Our X (we had two) have the same frameless design for front seat windows and have never had an issue. If you pre heat for a long time, it helps, but not always.
Yes. The front driver and passenger doors are frameless on the X. But not the rear doors.Did the X require the window to lower for the door to open?
the trunk shouldn’t be impacted so climb in and warm up the car…or go crazy and trigger it remotely. The only consistent and unexpected issue I’ve had with our Gravity in the snow is the windows freezing and, due to having to move down to open the door, not being able to get in the car.

But don't store it in the car!or...

I’ve not had it freeze shut but one must clear snow/ice from the top of the trunk opening/spoiler area or it sometimes thinks it’s hitting something and closes right after opening.Hmmm...
Question for Mtn and Northern dwellers:
does the rear lift gate ever freeze shut?
the frunk didHmmm...

The frunk has no heat source to help it thaw/defrost as far as I know. So, it can be a bit tricky. But mine double opens anyway, so it’s not been worse in the snow!the frunk did
There is a fix for that…take some sandpaper…The frunk has no heat source to help it thaw/defrost as far as I know. So, it can be a bit tricky. But mine double opens anyway, so it’s not been worse in the snow!![]()
