Thank you Lucid, your lack of delivery performance and lack of communication have put you on my wife’s radar screen. Spent a couple hours today having a fairly one sided discussion regarding yesterday’s Lucid conference call. Combined with multiple false statements regarding when we should receive our VIN and lack of responsivenesses to our emails, she no longer trusts Lucid. She has drawn a line in the sand for when she expects the VIN. She doesn’t care about the issues with other companies, they aren’t who we have an order with. So Lucid, quickly mend your ways, or there others on this forum will move up in the queue.

Oh yea. I had it also!!! My wife is a lot smarter than me and she is very concerned about whether Lucid will be able to survive.

as the consumer, what's the extent of our liability and responsibility if we lease the lucid and they declare bankruptcy during the lease?

im leaning towards leasing in case something happens, and if it looks like things have stabilized by then, i'll buy it out

I don’t blame her to be honest. Lucid clearly knew things weren’t going well and instead of being upfront they remained silent.

When you’re asking so much money for a car you can’t just think by remaining silent that people will put up with it.

I’ve seen today numerous comments over the internet that Peter shouldn’t be CEO/CTO but just CTO instead. Granted it’s people just venting and nothing will probably come of it but it’s clear people are getting fed up with the way they’re behaving/operating. If Q3 is just as bad the noise about Peter not being the right person to run the company will only get louder.

My very capable wife had the same response after we listened to the call.
 
My DA wrote today to let me know that production is complete on my car and it is being prepped to be shipped to a service center for a final inspection!
I received my VIN on July 15.
 
For those in CA looking to finance, Educational Employee’s Credit Union (EECU) is running a 1.99% APR promotion through August 31, 2022. I added link for loan and membership information.

EECU services the following counties: Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Stanislaus, and Tulare.

I spoke with a loan officer and here are a few key components:
  • Maximum loan amount is $100k
  • If you lock in your rate by 8/31, bank will honor it for 90 days with documentation that a vehicle is on order.
  • If the vehicle is not delivered before 60 days of your loan approval, they will run your credit again to ensure no significant changes between 60-90 days.
  • Some loans are approved same-day, but if it goes to underwriter, it can take up to 3 days.

Not at all. I am also the farthest from one. If you call a representative, they will do their the best to find a way to help you qualify for membership to open an account. I would call, even if you don’t think you do. I added screenshots from their website:

Called & was told this:
- Car needs to be titled/registered in State of California.
- Anyone from anywhere can apply for the loan (parents, friends, etc ... ) but the final title registration needs to be in CA

If you folks hear otherwise, update accordingly.
 
Classic Lucid bull crap. Just received an email from my DA. Despite the fact that he told me early in July that my car was in production and I would get my VIN in 2-3 weeks, he now says it never went to production. This was the second time he had told me that my vehicle was in production. He now says that when it does go to production, I should get my car in 6 weeks. He has no idea when it might go to production. There is no excuse for lying to me. Telling me that the car was in production (twice) is a specific event. I am no longer excited about getting an Air and I told him so. The Air is just a thing, just a car, I have zero emotional tie to the brand or product. When I tell my wife all of this, it won’t be pretty. I’m positive she is building her “I told you so “ list.

Communication. Is not their strong suit. It really needs improvement and was the source of most of my frustration prior to delivery.
