This article basically explains and posts a good reality check that Lucid actually strived to make extra effort than the legacy automakers to make existing Air owners happy.

With ADAS requiring tons of training data, it makes some sense for automakers to move away from CarPlay, which respects user privacy and thus doesn't give that critical data to said automakers.

Tesla never embraced CarPlay for a reason.

But customers are going to balk at the loss of one of their favorite features. Time will tell if they end up having to backtrack on this decision.

Perfect! Maybe Apple will appreciate Lucid’s efforts and reward us by being one of the first to get the new CarPlay UX when it rolls out later this year.

Lucid recruited many Apple software developers, time will tell.

I think it's the right move after living with an AAOS car for two years. If Apple wants onto the dash, they can write Apple Music and Apple Maps apps for AAOS. It's a free country.
