While doing a bit of research I learned if you live in an area where thunderstorms are common, stick with the metal roof. I'm not referring to hail damage. The second safest place to be after your home during a lightning strike is your car, assuming your car has a metal roof. The skin effect of an all-metal exterior body turns the entire car into a Faraday cage, protecting you from a lightning strike. This may not be as true with a glass roof. Those of you in CA and other areas with infrequent electrical storms can ignore this, but for those where storms are common, keep this in mind.
