When Lucid offered a price tag of over 100 EUR/month for a winter wheel package with my lease, I politely declined - thinking that, as with all other cars before, I'd be able to buy a set of good aftermarket wheels for half of what I'd spend over three years. Especially given that I opted for the smallest wheel combo (20/21). A classical "how hard can it be" moment...

Now, after hours of research, I am stunned to not find ANY wheel manufacturer to have an "ABE" certification for the Lucid Gravity... and without one, I'd have to get an individual certification with one of the official technical inspection bodies like TÜV or DEKRA, which I have never done and which seems to easily cost a few hundred Euros by itself.
Some wheels should fit by the measurements (including weight capacity etc.) - for example the AEZ Havanna (https://www.aez-wheels.com/DE/wheels/aez-havanna-dark), but they don't have ABE for Lucid.

I know there's a few of you driving Gravity's in Germany - what are you doing for winter? Are there any approved wheels out there that you know of, apart from the ones available through Lucid?
Any hints are greatly appreciated. I'm going to collect my Gravity in the last week of November, so I got a good month to sort that out.
Thanks!

Doesn't the 20/21 wheel option include ALL Season tyres? Even tho last year winter in Poland was harsh, I've decided not to buy Winter set for my AIR. Had some hesitation, was maybe more carefull but in the end everything was stable, to the point that we went couple of times to the mountains for skiing and stuff - snow performance was also really good.
The guy from YT NotchEV in last video speaks about the RIMS in Lucid and problems to find and fit other, non-lucid wheels. -

thanks for sharing! I'll reconfirm with the Lucid studio type of tires the car comes with - this option didn't cross my mind ;-)

Yeah that’s a challenge in Germany; you can’t just do whatever you feel like with your car for safety reasons. Which makes sense considering the autobahn

I'm from Germany as well and have had a Lucid Air for two years. I ran into the same problem and decided to go the gangster route 😎

I had some rims lying around from my old Tesla Model S, and with spacers, they fit. Yes, it's illegal, but I think that as long as you're not 20 years old putting huge rims on your car, nobody really cares.

Another option is to look for rims with the same specs (width, diameter, offset (ET / Einpresstiefe), and load rating) and get an individual approval (Einzelabnahme).
BTW: my Lucid Air came with all season tires.

Just don’t give anyone the opportunity to examine your wheels, like in an accident
