Lucid Air
Hello,

I've been reading this forum and others for a while. I wanted to add to the conversations and provide feedback to Lucid after years of lurking around. I really want them to succeed as a car company.

I like Audis for their understated styling (the 2014 S8 is one of my favorite sedans), but decided to jump to Tesla for environmental and lower maintenance reasons. Audi EV offerings were not competitive at that time (still not today. Efficiency and range are terrible).

I ordered an AWD Air Pure in early 2022 with the hope of getting it before the end of that year, but Lucid did not get me a car on time while my lease extension was up. So, I cancel my reservation and went back to getting another Tesla.
After a year, I got really bored of driving my 3rd Tesla, and my neighborhood is saturated with them. The lack of turn signal stalk was a safety issue for me. I decided to sell it at loss and got a loaded Lucid Air Touring instead. It's not as quick as a Model S Plaid, but I enjoy the luxury side much more than the 0-60 times. I've had the Air for almost a year now and I'm not bored yet. I still love Teslas. We picked up a Model Y last year for errands around town.
Lucid will need to keep my business moving forward. I will post a full review soon detailing things I want to improve. We're also looking at the Gravity but I need a test drive before making a decision.

Here's my quantum gray Air getting free electrons at EA. I almost went the fathom blue color, but decided against it after seeing it in person. I think the Air is best on a darker color and tint. I'm in the Portland, OR area.

Congrats on your first post! We are happy to have you be a part of the family and look forward to your feedback after a year of ownership.

When you're post a full review, make sure you tell us what you love about the car. Unfortunately, Internet forms have a tendency to focus on the negative… what else can I get… as opposed to celebrating the positive. This is a wonderful piece of machinery, and that often goes unappreciated.

Welcome fellow Touring owner. My biggest complaint....is against myself for not getting a Grand Touring 😂

Welcome to the forum.

My 2001 Audi S4 with the stick shift is still my all time favorite car, but alas had to move "forward" cuz my wife does not know how to drive a stick, and just couldn't justify needing two cars at the time.

I've had numerous audis since then, and most recently, flirted with a model s and bmw 540 before going the lucid route. I agree you with, coming from german luxury, there are still plenty of fit and finish items for lucid to button up and not to mention the software!

still, i enjoy driving my AT, short and long distances. and hope to keep this car 5+ years. After that, I also will not exclusively focus on another lucid. its a dynamic market and 5 years is a long time.

all in all, its a great vehicle, but its not perfect. hardware wise, i knew exactly what i was getting into. software wise, i've bought into the idea of incremental improvement

as long as you enjoy driving the car, its all good!
