Did Lucid Assistant improve with the last update?

I was just able to call my son and send him a text through Lucid Assistant!! When I tried this before Lucid couldn't recognize his name or contact info.

I think you got lucky . It’s hard to believe but I actually think it’s gotten worse with the last update

I'm with @Amster. LA actually understood me when I asked it to call my wife when driving home from work. Previously it always told me it could not find the contact.

Today I asked "Hey Lucid...What's the weather like for tomorrow?" She replied back..."This weather info is not available, turn on location services or include a city or state in the next search request".

I went thru all the settings menu and I can NOT find "Location Services"

Then I asked her..."Hey Lucid, where can I find Location Services in the settings menu?" She replied back..."You can find location services in the settings menu, under privacy or location" Again, I can not find any Privacy or Location settings.

Anyone else experience this...and is there a Privacy and location settings? I do see a setting where you can elect to share data with Lucid, which I selected YES...but that is the closest thing I can find about "Privacy and Location Services".

That’s a setting on your phone. Below are iOS steps.

Settings —> privacy and security —> Location Services. Look for Lucid and set it to Always

I’ve had the same issue since the last update. It’s a piece of crap so have given up on it. Not a good look for Lucid or Soundhound that an update breaks it so it can’t produce a simple weather request.

That’s a setting on your phone. Below are iOS steps.

Settings —> privacy and security —> Location Services. Look for Lucid and set it to Always

I checked my phone...its a Samsung Android phone...Location has been turned on ALWAYS...so don't think its that.

I actually didn't have any issues with weather report on Lucid Assistant til I upgraded to 2.6.0. It was working before the update.

Definitely a step backwards from Alexa. Hey Lucid needs significant work to catch up to Alexa, Siri, etc.

Ironically, Siri seems to work better (LOL) and the voice is creepy, so I don't use Lucid Assistant.

It probably depends on what you want L.A. to do. The main thing I use it for is to place calls and send messages. Since that now seems to work perfectly, I'm much happier now.
I'm undecided about the voice. I was in Las Vegas over the weekend and saw the show at the Sphere. It was narrated by a male and female animatronic voice. I thought either one would be a great sound for Lucid Assistant.

I have a pretty good guess at what this is...
Lucid Assistant is an Android app running on the car's Android infotainment system. It's not telling you to look at your phone, it thinks it is a phone. Some factoids just need to get updated so it knows it's a car.

Lucid likes to keep the the relationship spicy and full of surprises: fix 2 things, break 3, but never the same Or like Forrest's Mama (may she RIP) used to say "Lucid updates are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."

would love steering wheel heater control via the assistant (forget whether seat heater control is already there).

If Lucid had some contractual issue with Alexa that needed it to be removed then given how crap Lucid Assistant is they would have been better off simply removing Alexa and telling owners etc. that they're working on a new assistant to be released in future. Releasing it in its current state given how slow they've been to improve it probably wasn't the smartest idea.
