Lucid Air Grand Touring
Under some conditions the chrome strip, where the temp fan and volume controls are, reflects sunlight directly into the passenger or drivers eyes.
Anyone else seen that and if so what did you do to address it?

I'm interested in this as well. Would some type of matte wrap work? I really like the buttons and would pay for a matte or black option, for example. What ideas or solutions are there?

I have noticed similar reflections in certain lighting conditions. The chrome trim looks nice, but it can definitely create a glare when the sun hits it at the right angle. Some people use a matte vinyl wrap or a non-reflective trim cover to reduce the reflection while keeping the interior looking clean. Adjusting the seating position or using the sun visor can also help in some situations. It would be great to hear if anyone has found a more permanent solution.

I’m thinking matte black and how to put a lasting symbol to replace the text that will be covered
I can make decals but they don’t wear so well with all the touching.
Wraps can be printed but not with typical home printers.
Still searching

Hmm yes painters tape
I keep that in the frunk along with my bailing twine and fencing tools.
TBH it’s not a bad idea but I’m looking for something more permanent
As an engineer and an analyst I just can’t stand redo work and tape would be redo except once. IMHO

I don’t want to hit a deer because I’m blinded by the sun
Anyone know if the car will try to stop if it sees something like a deer in front of?

Is this in the Air or Gravity? I’ve never experienced this in the Gravity, having done multiple drives from sunrise to sunset with passengers.

What sun angles seem to be problematic?

This is on an air.
Anytime the sun can hit the chrome strip it will reflect and invariably will reflect into the occupants eyes. Remember I’m upper Midwest and the sun gets very high in the afternoon.
I’ll try to get a pic next time I’m not parked in the garage.

Perhaps our friends at TWRAPS could come up with a solution for the glare with a clear matte nonreflecting application for the glare from the HVAC controls on the Air?

It has been a problem for me in the Air, even with sunglasses on it's piercing light at certain angles of the sun, and not being a huge fan of chrome anyway, it's pretty annoying. I fixed it with 3M matte black automotive "chrome delete" vinyl wrap tape, got it here in the 2" version for $13, then cut it to size to layer over the chrome buttons and nearby trim, solved it completely. I literally never use those buttons anyway, so I don't care that it covered the icons, and it's not rocket science what they do even if you do use them.
