Looking for advice and options on paid charging plans for our Lucid as we complete the free 3 year plan with Electrify America.

We have a detached garage and not ready to run a 220v line to the garage at this time.

If you need to DCFC often, then you should sign up for a plan either EA or Tesla, but be aware that max charge rate on Tesla is only 50kW and you will need the adapter. I don't really need to DCFC and would expect that it would only be for a trip. At that point, I'd sign up for an EA plan for the month. I wish you could disable the warning in the Lucid app to enable a plan as that seems to only enable plug and charge which will NOT use any subscription plan you may have.

How much does it cost to run a line?

For me in California, it costs $0.13 per kWh for overnight home charging vs $0.45 to $0.65 for DC charging. That’s roughly $1k-$2k per year difference depending on miles/year and efficiency, not to mention the convenience of home charging.

Charging during road trips is getting as expensive as gas. I wonder how profitable the EVSE business is.
