Running 3.3.22 and latest key fob software (Vehicle delivery on 19Dec2025).

I suspect there are a ton of "edge cases" like this:

1) Drive and park the car.
2) Have passenger get out of the car with the keyfob in her purse, and walk away.
3) Driver realizes the car isn't quite in the parking lines and decides to move the car.
4) Car refuses to get into Drive. (OK I guess)
5) Driver pulls out his key card, places it in the center console spot, but car still refuses to get into gear.
6) Passenger returns to the car, takes keyfob out, shakes, and places it in the center console recess.
7) Car still refuses to get into drive.
8) Lock the car with the keyfob.
9) Unlock the car, but still won't get into drive!!!!!!!
10) Since we're stopping to pick up a pizza, decide to get the pizza since we might be there a long time (Sat evening, hundreds of miles from home).
11) Upon returning to the car like 10-15 minutes later, car unlocks and we're able to drive it again. (What a relief).

Haven't yet tried to reproduce, but I've also had situations where the car after being parked overnight won't even unlock with the key card on the driver's B pillar.

I'm pretty sure you have to have used the key card to open the door to drive with it. If you're already in the car and try to tap it you'd have to get out and re-enter using the card.

That's a bug.

Also, I can't get the software reset to reset.

It's the "X" button on the left PLUS the microphone button on the right plus foot on the brake, right?

Does car have to be in Park or Drive or something?

Absolutely a bug with the key card (and a dumb one at that).

Yes, you have to be in park and then hold the brake first and press and hold cancel and the voice assist button (mic) at the same time for about 10-15 seconds. If the screen is actually working at the time it should ding at you and say something about restarting.

OK, that was the one combination I didn't try (brake first) - and it worked, thanks.

I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but are there other reset options? (deeper, perhaps?)
None that owners can do.

My center console reader doesn’t seem to do anything since the latest update allows you to start the car with keycard and b-pillar. I’ve had a similar situation to what you described and had to get out, lock car with keycard tap to b pillar, then unlock card with b pillar tap to then be able to get in car and drive.

The reset takes longer to start than you’d think, so also make sure to just hold them for a while.

Hmm, there definitely was a time (I've had the car only a week) when putting the car in the center console section did work. But, maybe it was after the card opening the door thing timed out.
