2026 Air Touring
Hello,

Just picked up my 2026 Air Touring a few weeks ago and love it. I have about 600 miles on it so far.

Has anyone encountered a loud preconditioning pump like this? Service says it's generally the sound they make.

Also, a loud drumming sound over some medium bumps...

The 2nd noise is normal, that is the battery thermal management system; heat pump and coolant pumps circulating the fluid to maintain battery temperature, either from manual preconditioning to heat up for fast charging or just heating the cabin.

Thanks! Just concerned because it's so loud and sounds like there is air in the system which would affect efficiency of the pump. I'm assuming yours sounds the same?

Update - Lucid service came and dropped off an AGT loaner (very nice - and it makes the same coolant pump noise! Guess that question is answered...) and took my car in to investigate the spring sound. They were able to replicate it and they found that one of the rear springs was not seated properly in the isolator. They replaced upper and lower spring isolators on both sides just to be thorough. Then they performed an alignment. Unfortunately, it still makes the sound, but not as often. (only once since I have had it back) I'm not that worried about it unless it gets worse. While it was in for service, they noted that the driver's door handle was not presenting properly. They replaced the handle. A few days after I got the car back, the handle started sticking. It hadn't ever done it while I've had the car. Mobile service came and realigned it at my house. In a few weeks I'm driving from MA to FL and we'll see how it goes! Not to bothered by the small issues. Still love the car and I knew what I was getting into with a 10 year old manufacturer.

After successfully reproducing it, they discovered that one of the rear springs was not correctly positioned in the isolator. To be thorough, they changed the top and lower spring isolators on both sides.
