I just called Lucid customer service (something I should have done first anyways :-) ). Turns out I had to go to the upgrades section in under vehicle info in Lucid App and subscribe to their free base plan. That and credit card in Lucid wallet are both needed for plug and charge.

FWIW, I have been using Siri to open frunk or trunk while I am walking towards the car. Works quite well actually. You can ask "Hey Siri", "Open Lucid Trunk" and when the car wakes up/unlocks as you approach it, the trunk opens perfectly in time as you get next to the car.
